OP:

Enough is enough. You can't expect alot from anyone when you didn't do the right thing yourself. Quit blaming others and own up to the mistakes you made. Don't give false info. Keep up with your information. Have some self-accountability.

As someone who has had to deal with POL customer support over account compromisation twice, I know the frustrations you are experiencing quite well. I do not blame anyone but myself for not being careful enough with mt account info and getting compromised. Even when there was a situation when POLCS home site was the site that hacked my info....I still know I should have been more careful.

I will give you props, however. You are a prime example to the masses of just what not to do and how not to behave when you need help.

No one wants to help someone who complains about the help they receive.

>.>

I have already blamed myself for giving them 4 wrong numbers.

Also, I have been complaining because I have been receiving no help from them like any good normal customer should, the only help I have received is from you guys on here. I mean, isnt this what any good person would do? Complain because they are not getting any help for something they have been paying for?

This might be considered a bold statement, but whatever...: I am one of the most "legit" people on this world when it comes to things like this. I am the guy who buys all of their music, videos, and content that requires to be purchased by the manufacturer. I never steal anything. Never use cheats on games, etc. Great for me eh? -.-

I'm not sure how many of you can attest to that but good for you if you can.

*sigh*

It all just seems so corrupt...

All I want to do is play with my friends on the account I have had for over 2 years for a game that isnt that isnt even that popular (for an MMO that is). I have been paying monthly ever since I registered and even when I was not playing for a year and a half. Never had I ever done anything illegal in the game and I have always followed the rules and played just like any expected person is supposed to. I have always been nice and polite to everyone I met who was the same in-game and out of game too. Is this really too much for me to ask for? =/

(as I have said before) My account does not have any level 75 jobs (the highest I had was a 57 RDM), very little gil, no expensive gear, and about 24 days or so worth of playing time. I dont see why a hacker would want my account anyways besides perhaps charging me monthly for playing?

24 days worth of playing time might not seem like much for some of you FFXI addicts but when compared to games that are not MMOs it is actually quite a lot.

Edit: added some text.

I hate to say it, but you will likely not get anywhere unless you can manage to remember the original information you gave them. It sucks, but in this situation, you might be better off just starting over from scratch. With Level Sync and the increased boost to EP and DC mobs plus xp bands, you'll be right back where you were in only 2-3 months tops.

I'm not going to say it doesn't suck to have to start over, but at this point you should ask yourself if retrieving a level 57 RDM is really worth all the frustration, hassle, and stress you've been putting up with from their support in the past week and a half.

I can't make your decision for you, but giving the choice between bashing your face into a brick wall or throwing in the towel and starting over... lesser of two evils, man. :/

SEI POL Edgar A.: Hello, Brian, thank you for contacting the PlayOnline Information Center. Just a few moments while I review your question, please.
SEI POL Edgar A.: How Can I help you?

Brian X: Hello?
Brian X: Someone actually answered?
SEI POL Edgar A.: How Can I help you?
Brian X: Can I send you links? I made a thread on Allakazam where I have been posting what I have been going through, are you allowed to read or do you not have the time?
SEI POL Edgar A.: No I Cant sorry.
Brian X: Is that what your supervisor said?
Brian X: Took a while to respond.
Brian X: Ok, well I guess I'll post some quotes, if that is ok with you.
SEI POL Edgar A.: What's the issue?
Brian X: Well Edgar, I bought FFXI for Xbox 360 in August of 2006, and registered. Then I stopped playing FFXI in May of 2007. I just recently tried to come back and play because some real life friends just picked up FFXI and are playing now and I want to play with them.
Brian X: I have lost my exact playonline ID and password and so I can therefore not login anymore.
Brian X: How did I do this you say? I had everything written down on a piece of paper and uninstalled FFXI from my 20GB Xbox 360 HDD so I could add beta's at the time for other games because I didnt have enough harddrive space for them. One of my family members through away the piece of paper that I had all the information on and so now I cant login.
SEI POL Edgar A.: Do you remember the first 4 and last 4 of the Credit card on file I can try to pull up the account with that information
Brian X: And this is the problem, when I created my account (FFXI was my first MMO) I put 4 random numbers in the beggining of my address and it's been so long since I've played and I dont have my info sheet anymore I cant give the exact address I put down when I registered because of it.
Brian X: Yes I do.
Brian X: Here: XXXX XXXX
Brian X: Those are the first four and last four.
SEI POL Edgar A.: Brian, please hold while I look into your issue.
Brian X: Ok Edgar.

Brian X: That is a quote from the thread...
Brian X: Huh?
Brian X: XXXX XXXX isnt working?
SEI POL Edgar A.: What information on the account do you have?
Brian X: Everything except for 4 numbers I made up when I registered 2 years ago.
SEI POL Edgar A.: Nevermind what is your full name?
Brian X: XXXX X XXXX
Brian X: You there Edgar?
SEI POL Edgar A.: Yeah one second

SEI POL Edgar A.: yes sorry.
Brian X: So by me not having 4 numbers what does it make me look like?

SEI POL Edgar A.: No not saying that I just need it to be verified that's all
Brian X: numbers*
SEI POL Edgar A.: Yeah.
Brian X: Right so why do you need 4 numbers so badly? What is the reason behind this?
Brian X: I cant think of a logical reason. Please inform me with one.
Brian X: :)
SEI POL Edgar A.: Policy just doing my job.
Brian X: "All I want to do is play with my friends on the account I have had for over 2 years for a game that isnt that isnt even that popular (for an MMO that is)"
Brian X: I thought policy was to help the customer edgar. That is why I am chatting with "customer support". Hence the title.

Brian X: Did God tell you this?

Brian X: Can you please just effing help me!? This isnt helping customers. This is driving away customers Edgar. (in this situation)
SEI POL Edgar A.: From previous records it have been requested from a supervisor.
SEI POL Edgar A.: If you do not have that information I will ask you please contact us back when you do receive those numbers.
Brian X: Good so you guys do provide previous records. So which supervisor requested this and what is his logical reasoning behind that? Please tell.
Brian X: If you guys cant help me Edgar, then I am just going to cancel my account and never play again. Simple as that. You guys are making this a bigger deal than you should and it is quite offending to be honest with you.
SEI POL Edgar A.: Brian, I have already provided you with a resolution to this issue. As it seems you have no other new issues I can assist you with, I will be removing you from chat at this time.
Brian X: So please tell me how I can cancel my account and not get billed when I am not able to effin play!
SEI POL Edgar A.: Thank you for contacting the PlayOnline Information Center. Please try back during our regular business hours. Our hours are Monday - Friday 9:00AM to 6:00PM PST.

Yeah but that is part of the reason I stopped playing in the first place. Things were being to tedious and time consuming.

*sigh*

I dont know. It's just the info they have given and not given me thus far makes them out to be fairly corrupt from my experience in talking with them. Or at least their supervisor seems like a corrupt prick with no life.

By "he" you mean their supervisor right? He is corrupt for specifically making me give them the 4 numbers of the address without providing an explanation or allowing other ways for me to verify it is my account. Apparently if the people you chat with first (those who are not the supervisors) help in my situation then the supervisor will slap them and write them up for helping. >.>

If that isnt enough reason or doesnt make enough sense to you than I really dont care at the moment, I am too tired and fed up with all this. Sorry.

Wow. Way to be there, bub. Being a douche to someone that's assisting you more than you are assisting them? He was doing his job. He doesn't need to sift through all your meandering excess information which has nothing to do with him attempting to help a customer that cannot help themselves.

Please stop feeding the trolls. This idiot needs no further help from us.

OP, I suggest you cancel your Content IDs like you should have done in the first place rather than ******** that you were continually charged for something you were no longer using, and do not come back to this game.

I was not being a douche tyvm.

Also I've been "************** because I cant get my account back so I can play, not necessarily because I was being charged while I was not playing.

I guess I really shouldnt have expected any of you to understand since you are not the one's who have been going through this experience. All you have been doing is sitting at your computer reading posts in this thread which may or may not give an accurate description of what is going on.
