I don't see anyone argueing against the list using logic at all, the only thing I see is people argueing the validity of every single person on the list having bought ffxiapp.

i dont question the validity of the entire list..i posted what i did because i thought it would support the case of one person who i thought there would be some doubt.
I dont think this is good, anyways. For one, publicising this also tarnishes the players associated with them who do not bot or cheat, and sets player against player in not a good way. I disagree with botting and any form of cheating, but these are fellow players, not enemies who deserve to be railroaded out of the game.
Two, I definitely dislike Taj single handedly setting himself up as an arbiter of ffxi morality. Light yagami in the death note manga was more a psychopath than an admirable character, so concerned with justice that he began killing policeman who tried to stop his alter ego, Kira from murdering criminals. Its a chilling story about how power can corrupt the best intentions, and its incredibly ironic to take that mantle in this instance.
There is also fallout damage. Many of the unknowns are names spread across multiple servers, and the majority of them could be innocent. However there is no way to prove such definitely, and distrust is spread.
It doesnt sit well with me.

Using FFXIah.com to correlate names on the "Unknown" section to servers isn't accurate given the preponderance of level 1 claimbots that never go anywhere near jeuno. It's a certainty that some people on the unknown list just have the misfortune of having the same name as a lvl 1 BST that never leaves dragon's aery.
Speaking of which why are there no names on that list without an AH history? There should be but there aren't. That alone proves that the list must have at least been edited somwhat.

Even if only one name has an AH history on FFXIah.com it doesn't really prove anything. They might just have the bad luck of having the same name as a lvl 1 claimbot on another server.
For that matter, even those names on the server specific lists could have the same name an an earlier character on the same server that either quit or was banned. (much less likely but still possible).
On the other hand, those players that have offered ridiculous convoluted X-Files esque explanations (Men In Black planted FFXIapp on my computer because the government knows that I know the secret of the Black Helicopters and is out to frame me and ruin my reputation) are very obviously guilty as hell.

I remember reading that thread on the end game forums about how end game was filled with cheaters.
Removing that thread will do more damage than good now because my understanding was that most people who do post, including Hapernak, never really took much of a stance against the idea. Was more along the lines of "if you do end game you better get used to cheating" and some such. But now I suppose that thread is too damaging for some key people so it was removed. so even more respect lost on the part of those on the list who would do such a thing rather than fess up.
