i see a problem now... random invite people or from LS might fight over who will be leader and who gets recorded.

If its LS what if this guy wont be on at the right time or gets impatient and invites random people leaving LS behind with are earned spot.

there might be some drama with this.
Nothing worse than Limbus :)

You could always just farm for tokens/mobs/get another character with a "save file" if the original person is gone.

What's scary is, even with all these monsters around, it would kind of suck if you had them dropping materials like Behemoth hide. I mean, right now I'm doing KS99 with a few people and that's how I make my money!! >3<

I just hope the economy doesn't die with the amount of gil I have now. It would kind of stink if I had just gotten a Behemoth hide only to find it's only 200k or less.

SE is doing a damn fine job listening to the player base, this could get pretty interesting.

Hey, now this is a pretty great idea. S-E appears to listen to some of players after all. What do we think the odds are that this new area is an alternative means to get Abjurations? I recall a mention that designers were looking into other ways to make them aquirable.

Of course, a 3/6 member limit is very interesting news...

I was hoping the new area would be point based with very good items and require SM rank to enter; some kind of a reward for getting top mercenary rank.

I won't pass judgement on this until its implemented, but ugghh if it ends up being as random as Salvage.

That requirement sounds horrible (not the idea, but in general) if SM = Sargent Major, isn't that like..impossible to get it for certain people?

Bout time...

They have something similar to this in WoW in instanced zones where you you defeat a monster on a floor and you record your progress and can go back to that same floor. I like this idea and hopefully the rewards are well worth it. If these randomly generated areas are what I think they are (Looooooong cave like tunnels in the .DAT files with elevators) then its going to be some crazy fun!

Well I don't think it's impossible. It just takes a whileif one repeats the same mission over and over. Unless you speak of the rank up quest itself?

And the requirements don't have to be uncapped only. It can be capped at level 50. :o So Rank Points can still be obtained.

Question is...

WHAT KIND OF ITEMS? :O

Second (and equally important) Question is:

WHAT KIND OF DROP RATE? ^_~

Just seemed like it would be a hard rank to obtain based on the name.

assault ranks can be hard to obtain if you are worried about the gear. having to redo certain "easy" assaults is a main way to obtain points needed for an item. with that said i reach 2nd rank by repeating only 2 assaults a lot. so it can be done.

I'm having trouble figuring out how the "saved progress" will work, right now there's two different ways I can see it happening (both are examples from in-game).

1) Saved for group: when you exit via the Rune of Transfer, you get some rare/ex item that indicates where you exitted (almost like Chip from Limbus that indicates you finished an area). This would mean that anybody who gets into a group with a chip can enter the upper levels, but it also tends to force players to join LS establishments to get into the dungeon, making it like HNMLS version 2.

2) Saved for individual: When you exit via the Rune of Transfer, you get some key item to indicate the completion of a section (like the Ashu Talif assaults, or Promyvion-Vhazl). The problem I'd see with this would be that you'd quickly see shouts "Nyzl Isle Assault, final section only!", making it about as difficult as it is to see anybody doing the first two Ashu Talif assaults.

Im doubting the monsters will be hnm because only 3-6 people can enter. Im thinking more along the lines of certain monopolized lower nms such as serket or o kote nm and such. Possibly another k club nm.

So, does this use tags or not?

Because I still need a total of about 60k assault points for my yigit set. Can't go waste them on something new unless they offer even better things.

Would be nice if this dropped abjurations and other things people complain about. Though only item I've complained about is relics and I doubt they'll toss in those too. (But it would be funny if they did, since I got 5/5 last week)

as per random, it could be anything. maybe it'll be some random sahagin NM that drops some item that makes u love fish. or maybe its a weakened hydra. we won't know until we head in.

Damn SE when is this update?

do recall it says you're trying to defeat a mission. Therefore the save system onlylets you go back to try to finish the mission. I assume once you finish teh mission, you will lose your save point.

I'm also guessing, knownig SE, that each floor will have stuff worth having, so you're going to want to go through an entire mission.

Still this sounds awesome.

Personally I'm really crossing my fingers that the items dropped from these Assaults includes the armor dropped from Salvage. ~_~ As it is getting a fully upgraded piece of Usukane armor is a distant wet dream.

I may not be high level, but I do recall there being a BCNM that drops K-club.

It says in the post
Quote:
*All participants will obtain tokens from a mission; however, only the person who operates the Rune of Transfer on the starting floor will receive the recorded data.
so unfortunately it will only be saved for the individual.

So it sounds like there is no end to this dungeon. You just keep getting higher and higher and each instance will be different. I think the higher tier floors will be practically impossible to finish and may simply be there to allow players to fight the powerful monsters on those floors.
