yo im lookin around and i see alot of people sayin that paladin sux ?? y is that man im confused im thinkin that there the best thing in the world Imao well i want to know if i sould a paladin/warror hmm i think yes but im thinkin a Ranger/warror too ahh don't forget drk knight and ninjs im thinkin to be one of them but warror stays as the sub job Imao may later i'll change it well i need some ideas come on people help me paladin , Ranger , Drk knight , Ninja .....WHICH I CHOOSE IM LOST !!!!
What? Are asking which job you should be? That's entirely up to you. Read around in the job forums, make posts asking questions, and then decide. Besides, the beauty of FFXI is you can change jobs whenever you want. If you don't like your job go talk to your Moogle.

My head hurts now, and I'm not entirely sure why.

I think he was the one that was smoking something, and it wasn't a cigarette, pipe, nor cigar.
Paladins rock. I love Paladins. Does that mean Ninjas and Warriors suck? Hell no. I've seen awesome Ninjas and awesome Warriors too.
To me ALL jobs rock in their own way. Why? Becuase this game rocks. I've played a little of all the jobs and I think they are all cool and intriguing.

alright guys i get u but like im seein more and more sayin that pld i love there great but now i got people on the side sayin paladin sux? WTF now the job forget that

Sure, that's a decent argument, until you factor in that any DD with HQ/nm equipment can and will pull hate from Ninjas constantly without a THF to SATA on the NIN, and subsequently cause the WHM to cure said DDs, further complicating hate control. Personally, I prefer PLD, as they have a lot easier time holding hate on their own, and if they do have a THF, nobody else will generally take any hits.
Oh, and before anyone says "Paladins suck because"...
I wanna remind you that just like Ninja and Warrior, Paladins have their niche.
Ninjas suck against MNK mobs. Yuhtunga/Yhoator Jungle, anyone?
PLDs have difficulty tanking HARD hitting mobs. Sickle Slash, anyone?

Okay, seriously, there is alot of Job bias in the game for pretty much ALL jobs, but I can tell you that anyone who has anything bad to say about a job does NOT know what they are talking about AT ALL... *Cough cough*
As you can see, some people might favor one job and totally deny any usefullness of other jobs. Usually only saying what makes their job great and not mentioning anything about the other job except that it sucks... Both NIN and PLD are great, anyone who says otherwise is moronic, plain and simple.
As Outlaw said, you can also change job anytime so you can sample all the jobs and pick the one you like best. Still worth checking the job forums to see what every job is like in the long run and to get all kinds of good info on equipment, abilities and how to use them, stuff like that. Good luck.

Just to add a different point of view to this issue- don't forget that having a Paladin tank in the party allows the damage dealers and nukers to dig in and bear down on the enemy that much harder... in-turn making faster kills and creating the possibility for longer experience points chains. So in the end, it all balances out.

great about the info but how about a tank that can do some dmg that is what i want i love paladin andninja i love both but that is better not in tank but over all tank and dmg? also rememeber that u have warror as a sub job what i do im crazy here !!!
