Hi gang,

A while back I read in the forums some way to remap the keyboard so that you could toggle/scroll through alliance members. There is some control you have to manipulate before you start the game or after you launch POL but before you log in.... If anyone has any idea what I'm talking about i'd appreciate any help offered.

Thanks,

Guy

What exactly do you mean by scrolling through the alliance members? Do you mean being able to select them or something?

I have no idea what you're talking about, but it would sure be a godsend in HNM, NM, God Fights, and Dynamis.

If you do find out about something like this please post it lol.

In Game:
I thik F11 is Party #2 leader
F12 is Party #3 leader

Maybe its F10 and F11, but one of those.

<a00> - <a05>
<a10> - <a15>

and

<stpc>

Out of game
Start menu -> PlayOnline -> POL Config -> Gamepad.

I think only gamepad can do this, not the keyboard.

I'm not sitting in front of the game at the moment, but if you go in to the config menu, there will be three buttons to configure movement, commands, and (something else).

If you go in to the commands, you will see a long list of key bindings. The ones you want say (I think) Cursor Move Up and Cursor Move Down... Something like that. ^-^;

Assign one key to each (I have 'z' for up and 'x' for down). Then, if you target yourself and hit your new up key (z), it will target the last member of the second party in the alliance. Hitting it again will take you to the next-to-last member. Going the other way, from you, down will target the second person in your party, then the third, etc. Yes, it wraps, so if you go down from the last member of your party, it will jump up to the first member of the first alliance party (or second if only 2 parties, or to you if there's no alliance.)

If no one else gives the specifics, I'll edit this post when I am sitting in front of the menu and not working on (a poor) memory alone. ^-^;

Mindel,

YES!!!!! This is exactly what I'm looking for. I'm assuming you mean the config menue in game.

If you (or anyone else that knows how to do this before Mindel gets a chance) could write an "idiot's guide" on how to do this myself and I'm sure many others would appreciate it.

Thanks,

Guy

This is exactly how I've always done it and I didn't have to configure anything. I play on PS2 and when I get the blue selection arrow, from activating a job ability or spell, I just use up and down on the controller or keyboard to select from the party/alliance list on the right side of the screen.

The functionality has always been there, you just changed the key binding to 'z' and 'x'.

This works well with macros that use <st>, <stpc> and <stnpc> targeting commands and with selecting commands from the menus.

It's funny, the longer I've played this game, the more I've come to appreciate how well designed the interface actually is. I used to hate it, but having played with controller/keyboard since launch I've found that I only touch the keyboard to chat or write macros any more. I use the controller for everything else.

Exactly, it just mimics the functionality you PS2ers have. If I recall correctly they are bound to nothing by default in the PC version. I am heading home from work now, so I will check it out. ^^

Okay, here goes...

2nd Menu->Config->Misc.2

Go down to the last line, and choose the first option: "Movement"

Go down to the option "Menu/Target Cursor Up" and assign a key.

Do the same for "Menu/Target Cursor Down".

Those two keys should now scroll you up and down through your party/alliance member list.

You may need to be in Compact Keyboard mode for it to work. ^^

Just a quick note, you do have to switch to compact keyboard, but doing so did not disable my keypad.

Thanks for all your help!!!
