Hello. I posted this for my LS site and figured some others may need it soon since not everyone has been in the game for over a year. Event starts the 20th and ends nov. 1st so bumps to keep it on top page would not be frowned upon

Apparently I have been asked by some to sum up what all of the items in this event do and how to get stuff.
So basically when the event is started a large number of preexisting npc's will be changed to look like various mobs in the game. Several other npc's will be added and they will move around part of the zone in a pattern like the opo opo's in kazham.

You trade the costumed npc's treats. "Treats" include cookies, fruit, candy, chocolates, pie and posibly a few other food items as well. Maybe Gelattos to. You can get many of these items at various npc shops and I highly recomend this since all AH prices will skyrocket redicoulously in seconds after the npc's are put in. If you wish you can also make money off the price gouging yourself just try not to ***** over LS members.

Npc shop locations are easy to find
http://ffxi.ogaming.com/content/information-vanadielstorestocklist.php
This is a site containing all normal npc stores in the game. It list Npc names and goods they sell but not prices and locations.

http://ffxi.cannotlinkto/regional-merchants.php
This is a page in the somepage site. It show all regional npc shops. It gives a short deffinition of what npc shops are and list npc names, locations, goods, and price list according to fame, and it list the npc's in all 3 nations.

These regional npc's are the guys who say to you "Oh I am so bored waiting for my next shipment from XXXXXXX" or "Well if you wants me to sell you stuff why don't you go to XXXXXX and do something about it."
They are also the most likely permanent npc's to be changed into monsters.

Crafters good luck but it may be cheaper just to buy the stuff once you figure in crystal costs.

OK, on to the actual quest. Once you have treats, and you will need many of them, trade them to npc's dressed like mobs. Once trade one of 3 things will happen.

1. Most likely and common you will get changed into a mob. It last until you cancel the effect or zone. In this costume form you can't open doors of go to AH but you can still talk to npc's and buy items at shops

2. You get a Jack O' Lantern: This is food It used to have nice acc and atk bonuses as well as dark resistance and a boost to arcana killer, but that may have been changed in the patch that changed all the food effects.

3. You will get one of the event items. (see below)
They say if you trade different items to different Npc's your chances of getting the event items or jack o' lanterns is better but most people don't care or are lazy or cheap. I'm cheap and already have alot of one item so I will be trading one to all the npc's in a zone then switch to the other zone in town to repeat the process.

Your results may vary.
Also you may get the shaft and end up broke.

Then there are the items you want.
As useual all are lvl 1.
atk and other stats are negligible.

But they have neat bonuses to make them worth the effort. Thats what makes this the best game holiday. It gives the most variety of items and can be fun if given a chance

The items are

SET ONE:
Pumkin Head: hat looks like carved pumkin
-1 emnity

Horror Head: +1 version has -50 emnity under certain conditions
night time darks day and full moon

Trick staff: +1 to hp & mp

Treat staff: Additional Effect: Warp
Basically when you hit a mob there is a chance of warping to home point.

SET TWO

Pumkin Head II: hat looks like carved pumkin
+1 emnity

Horror Head II: +1 version has +50 emnity under certain conditions
day time lights day and new moon

Trick staff II: Enchantment : Warp

Treat staff II: Enchatment: Warp
ONE use One real life week for one use to recharge
last forever

SET THREE
new items this year

Pitchfork: weapon polearm type all jobs.
nothing special

Pitchfork +1: Costume: Increase Movement Speed
this may turn out to be very interesting

Ok set one was used first year of game set two was used last year along with set one. Set 3 was put in in last update. Hopefully all 3 sets will be used this year.

Last thing: To get a +1 versions like the horror heads the treat staffs or the +1 fork you need to have the regular version equiped.
All these items are Rare Ex so only one of each is posible.

OK, thats it, go out and get them

An additional note, a cheap source of cookies is the caravan that comes to the city that leads the conquest for the week. I think the ringmaster sells ginger cookies for like 11 gil each. Definately want to buy those rather than 2000 gil pies to trade. ;-)

Yes your right. I also forgot to add that if you were lucky enough to get a Dream hat +1 last christams and have been using it regularly you should have no need for other sources of sweets.
