I'm posting this out of sheer curiousity. Everyone always says RL > FFXI, at the same point on a daily basis a lot of ppl make RL sacrificies to play FFXI. There are occasionally ppl I meet who are still like "oh noes!! i iz out of teh cheez curls lawlz .... rl > ffxi so i leave exp pt w. no notice b/c i needz teh rl cheez curls!" ... and then there are other ppl I know who postpone things like the weekly date-night with the spouse b/c of a linkshell event.
Soooo ... what RL things have *you* put off for FFXI? Be honest and no flaming plz ^^ Also no calling anyone a loser ... we *are* reading/posting on a video game forum of all things >.>
I'll start - I've put off:
1) shopping for food when cupboards are basically bare (Pizza Hut free delivery ftw!!!)
2) dinner/coffee with friends ("um ... yeah I have a bad headache can't go out 2nite sorry ; ; "
3) sleep (a couple of all nighters in there XD)

I'm only on during the day if I have a few minutes. I'm always on at night though, if I wasn't playing FFXI I would be playing something else anyway.

I don't really go out regardless, even before FFXI...so usually it takes up time that I might use to work on my car, excersize and sleep. I work full time and go to college, so when I'm not doing those or sleeping, I usually play ffxi.

Don't feel bad, I play FFXI pretty much all the time too, and I don't go to school.
The best excuse for someone going AFK was when our tank claimed the cops busted into his house and arrested him. True? We'll never know.

I dropped out of highschool to do tu'lia all day. I now have a GED and attend community college.
Hmmmmm..... Let's see, the things in RL i have neglected for IG. Well I am not sure if I can list them all but here is what I can remember.
1) I have called out of work, and have even transfered departments in order to meet the time contraints of my HNM ls <.< Sad but oh so true lol
2) Allowed my cell phone to "run out of batteries" when the girl friend was supposed to be calling.
3) Skipped classes while I was still finishing up College.
4) Forgot about a family members birthday becuase I was doing Kirin runs with the ls :x

I sometimes put off stuff like sleep and showers (NOTE I said put off) but I usually do everything in advance before I log into FFXI. That includes homework, chores, and everything else.
Other times I multitask. If I'm in a party and have chores (like ones I got after I got into the pt), I do them between pulls. One time I made a sandwich at my desk and ate it, lol.
For me it just matters what the situation is. If I'm lfp and I have chores, I'll do them then. If I'm in a pt and I have chores, I multitask or if it's a lot of chores I tell the party I'm sorry and leave (and try to find a replacement of course)
EDIT: No I'm not a goody-goody. One time I stayed up waaay past what my parents wanted me to just so I could keep harvesting >.>;;;; I'm 14 so if I go too far out of bounds, they will take away my computer :x

I put off pissing a lot <_<. And homework or drum practice. To me RL and FFXI are equal, both are just as pointless. Probably sounds like I'm some crazy emo-geek, but that doesn't mean I think life sucks or anything. Don't get me wrong.

Not much, to be honest. When my daughter was younger, I would play during her naptimes (after the house was cleaned) and now I play after she's gone to bed or my husband's taken care of her.
I've put off the following:
1. Picking up medication from the pharmacy.
2. Picking up girlfriend from class.
3. Sleep.
4. Pissing.
But, I've noticed that my RL is much better when I stop playing FFXI for a while. This was when I went home on leave (from the military) and couldn't play it. I guess that means it's some kind of addiction... because honestly, it's not as fun as when I first started playing.
