You really expect level 12-14 newbs with no subjob to walk to jeuno then walk all the way to bubrimu peninsula? It aint worth it. In all my time leveling in the maze, I only seen ONE bastokian that actually went to level there cause he heard about it.

The maze and bubu is geared more toward windurstians. Sandy and bastok have the dunes and bubu is for windy.

But most of the time I find members in Jeuno or in another large cities, and are usually rank 5+. It's been almost half a year since I partied with n00b's in the dunes. the current job I am leveling in the teens is PLD and I have friends from LS's and Real life and we all wanted to go to Bubu for the fact no one ever goes there....

So ::shrugs::

Um, have all of you that say it is hard to get to the Penn forgotten about the ferry boat? Sure, there are gobs around the entrance to Mhaura, but its not really much worse than the gobs in the dunes.

I remember the good old days. I remember the days when the level progression went something like this. Partying in Tahrongi Canyon, then Maze of Shakarami, Buburumi, then Valkrum Dunes. Can we go back to those days? I'm tired of people running to the Dunes at level 12. It's gotten beyond ridiculous. And on a side note, how many people know you can get some of your sub job quest items in places other than the Dunes? Time to broaden back up those horizons people, get a little variety in leveling spots going.

well to me as any job with ranged attack from lvl 1-20 around windy is the best spot to solo, or even PT with.

you can go up to lvl 9/10 on newbie zone of east/west sruta and then you can take solo Crawlers that are T to you in canyon, yes if you plan it right you can kill the crawler with it barly taking your HP in to yellow, its a nice xp spot and you get to farm for money aswell.

once you are 13/14 you can head into maze and start on maze makers which are about 20-23.

heck if you are feeling all mighty then you can also take on abyss worms that are lvl 29-31 to lvl higher.

once you think you are not getting enough xp of those worms just zone over to Attowah Chasam (sp ?) and kill the worms there which will take you up to 37-38 considering how far you want to go...

there are worms in lvl 40-50 range that are in eastern/western altep but they only comeout during the night... :(

the simple answer is that 2/3 of the population of the server doesn't have to take a 20 minute boat ride to get there.

But while its easier for Sandorians and Bastokans to get to Valkurm I wouldn't say it was really not easy for them to get to Buburimu ... its no more difficult than it was for me as a new player to make my way from Windurst to Valkurm for the first time. If it was that difficult I'd still be a level 10 WHM with no sub.
True, but it does mean jumping on a boat which can have all kinds of high level monsters gang-rape you. Hands up those of you who died on the boat during your first few trips. I know for sure that I did, simply because I didn't know the dangers. Can't expect new players to know everything about every zone they go to.

Also, since the Dunes is on the way to Buburimu Penninsula for both San d'Orians and Bastokans it makes little sense to travel the extra distance just to battle similar enemies on the other side of the ocean. Also makes getting back a pain.

Couple that with the simple fact that Selbina has a magic store offering both black and white spells, a shop which allows you to restock on ammunition and doesn't require you to walk through most of the zone to get to (compared to Bubu from Tahrongi) and you get the major reasons why its preferable.

Unless there's some kind of mass exodus to other zones, no one will ever level anywhere else at those levels. I sure TRIED to level at places like Korroloka Tunnel at early levels while levelling RDM but getting members was nearly impossible compared to Dunes so after a few battles with friends I gave up trying and followed the sheep. No point in going against the grain when its highly counter productive to what you're trying to achieve.
