Dual Boxing in 1 computer? It is possible?Follow

Is there anyway to open 2 account at once on one computer? And play 2 at once?

Step 1: Purchase a 2nd copy of FFXI.
Step 2: Register a new POL ID using the codes provided with the software.
Step 3: Create a (Full priced because it's a different POL ID) Content ID.
Step 4: Create any new characters on that ID.
Step 5: Go to FFXI.ARCHBELL.COM and download, install and setup "Windower".
Step 6: Run your first instance of FFXI, log in, and start the game.
Step 7: Minimize, or alt-tab, or do what you must to be able to run another program (i don't have this problem as I have 2 monitors)
Step 8: Run the windowed FFXI shortcut a 2nd time, which will create a new instance of the program, allowing you to have 2 FFXI's running at once.

{Congratulations!} you can now go PL yourself to your hearts content.

Windower does let you run two versions of the game on one computer, I used it to log onto my friend's account and R2 myself when I died soloing. Bogs my computer down though, so unless you have a really good computer, I wouldn't suggest it.

BizarroStormy, I try your method and I log into my account with Windower using POL. Then when the game start I open the 2nd account my brother and it just kick me right off. But maybe youre doing something different then me?

Is it a separate POL account? Or just a second character? If you use the same POL account you will get booted when it tries to log in and the account is already logged in. What error message are you getting?

lmao you have a gig of ram a 6800 and a p4(prescot? even if not.. still) and you were worried about 2 instances of the game running slowly?

Lol I get Rate Down for asking if I could dual box on the Computer. Not like its ellegal or anything. I'm using 2 account I completely bought and have a healer help me a bit while LFP. I already have a PS2 so I can still Dual Box, so curious see if it work on computer as well.

I reccomend setting the window size so you can see both at the same time. I beleive I use 800x600, it's about the same size as teh POL viwer. Other than that, if you turn down your clipping range and turn off shadows, that helps ALOT.




But, if you browse the web at the same time, be careful. Some of the Ads here at alla LEECH CPU power.

Why not use a PS2 and a cheap PC? I'm sure you could get a PC that could run FFXI on the lowest setting for around $500 (Is a Mac owner so knows little about PC's)

Hey, it's an idea. OR when FFXI comes out on Xbox 360 get a second account on that one if low quality setting hurt your eyes. I'm so used to the PS2 version's graphics that when I see the game running on my friend's PC with the settings maxed out I weep at the sheer beauty of it and wish SE would hurry the F*** up with the Xbox 360 version.
