What one thing, anything at all you would add to this game if you could? Whats the one main thing you think its lacking as well?

I'd love to see more items and gear that exist just because they're fun - even if they're more or less useless for exp. Event items like the swimsuits and halloween staves and dream hats and yukata come close, as do fireworks, but I'd love to see more. More animated emotes (or just more emotes in general), too. FFXI has it's funny moments, but I wouldn't mind if it had a little more of a sense of humor. =)

I love monsters that require special tricks to defeat them, brigandish blade is one, but I would like to see more.

Lacking in? I enjoy questing, aside from the AF armor, I wish there were more quests for higher level armor, instead of just having to camp overcamped HNMs or mindlessly farming triggers for gods.

btw.Katie in the main FFXI forums? Did you lose a bet or something?

If you want an ACTUAL responce, Katie:

Every single games has it's flaws in it, which from your own personal experience with other MMORPGS (and even Ogame), you know that you can sit there and make a list.

The problem is that depending on what job class you choose, you can make up your own list of "this game should fix/nerf xyz."

The only thing, though, that I'll admit is flawed which is affect ANY job class in this game is the current economy. You will spend a good portion of the game trying to make enough money to buy ONE piece of equipment, only to hate life as your still missing 6 or so other slots that need upgrading.

That this game seems to have over all other MMORPGs that I've toyed with is the plot. It's thick, rich, and filled with twists and turns and cutscenes that would blow your mind. Of course, it takes a while to get strong enough to get there, but as early as level 30 (level cap being 75), you get to see some of the best cutscenes I've seen in a while.

If you were thinking on joining the FFXI band wagon and giving it a shot, let me know. I'll bring you into my server (there's an actual process you have to do for it, sadly, you can't just pick a server, which would be that OTHER flaw.)

I'll post more when I think of it...if there's anything for me to add, at least.

Make that a "Pocket Moogle"!

*You just aggroed a gob in Valkurm Dunes on your level 10 job... and your nowhere near a zone O.O, what ever will you do?!?!?

Pocket Moogle to the rescue.. whip out your handy-dandy pocket moogle and change jobs, voila you will be chasing the gob now!

*Your tank just died and there's nobody with raise anywhere nearby, and he then tells you his Home Point is Jeuno =/

Impress your friends with your shiny new Pocket Moogle, instantly change jobs and raise him.

*Levelling up a low job and an NM pops right in front of you >.> only you are WAAYYY too low level to consider it.

That's right, Pocket Moogle to the rescue.

Pocket Moogle, I love you!

Being a BLM I would like to see Ultima or Meteo. The goal of a BLM is to get the bigger, badder spell and it just doesnt seem to me that it exists. Sure BLMs have tons of superpowered spells, but they are still laking that one ultimate spell that always seemed to exist throughout every other FF. Well thats my two cents.

So glad you asked this.....

Set equipment that gave BONUSES upon completion, or maybe a consecutive tiered system as one added more pieces. This is one area I thought Diablo2 shined.... and it might bring more variety to what the same jobs wore at similiar lvls.

For example, maybe Errant Gear would bring enough bonuses as a full set that some people wouldn't swap gear... and give an opportunity for anyone short on inventory spaces. While other more hardcore players might still choose to squeeze out another couple stats by swapping. I just think some variety, and the excitement brought by trying to complete sets... would be nice :)

Honestly the bow and throwing ranged system is fine. It is much more realistic than it was before. The gun and crossbow on the other hand are a little off.
Guns and crossbows should work exaclty the oppisite of bows and throwing. In other words, being point blank should increase damage and being far away should lower damage. . I think the over whelming price of bullets , and the lower base damage of bolts would balance the bonus. This isn't the one thing I would add , it's just something that bothers me.

The one thing I would add is , having every peice of equipment show up on you. I was really disappointed when I found out my cape was invisible when I first started. It would make people look more inique.

Well, it's not as easy as running up and attacking them, but you can 1-on-1 in the Diorama Abdhaljs-Ghelsba. That's duel as far as I'm concerned.

I honestly can't think of anything to change. I've always enjoyed the game just as it is, and when new changes do come, I accept them and enjoy the new game. I'm odd that way.

I'd like to see dependency on WHMs reduced. Either by buffing up healing spells for RDMs and SMNs, or making potions as useful as they were in every other Final Fantasy game (Or every other RPG for that matter).

All items obtainable for everyone.

This means A recurring way to get the Windshear Hat and Wing Pendant, the availability (likely during an event) for the Chocobo Wand, the three (Bronze, Silver, Gold) Moogle Belts, the three (Sprout, Guide, Mandragora) Berets, and the Timepiece, and either the availability (through an extreme number of Ballista Points) or removing of the Stars Cap and Laurel Crown.

And anything else I might've missed that's been exclusive to JPs, people who pay more, or people who play specific parts of the game.
