since im a smn im gonna train yhoat and howling moon to see if that will level my npc again. i have gained a total of 23xp while xping the NPC, and its level 32

i still need to know what happens if you give more than 1 weapon? so far ive gived the great katana, scythe, and hand to hand because i have a attack elvaan girl

Good info, LygerZERO, I guess that means you dont have to get exp for your NPC to get exp... I figure next time I can call mine I'll go kill mandies...

I've had 4 calls, 2 in ESaruta as 5-6 smn, and 2 in qufim as 40pld, and it hasn't leveled, so I dont think it was gaining exp while I was smn. After the last session with it, I changed the style to attacker. Haven't been able to give it a weapon yet, but I think im gonna give it a scythe, so we can duo drk+pld... Right now, its using a doublet. I guess it could be mrc. cpts.

since your npc is lv.30, i would image you need to fight mobs that you can gain xp on at that level. although, i dont want to test it because if you cant get levels off mobs so low, it will have wasted a few callings, and im getting level happy

as soon as darksday ends i'll go try and howling moon a train in yhoator jungle. this will clear up a few things, if npc gains xp for killed mobs, or some other way. and if there is really an xp quota, or is the time random. if i train and kill, oh say, 50 mobs, and it dosent leave, either it gained no xp, or there is no max xp for a calling

booo, she wont give me a new pearl, mabey you have to wait an entire game week, and not wait till the start of the new one

Took mine out to Rolanberry as 55blm and just started whacking Quadavs.

He stayed out for about 20 mins, until he said he had reached his quota. These were all Too Weak mobs, so no XP was gained, but when I checked on him afterwards, he appeared to have changed his body armor to lvl 49 Mythril.. Im not exactly positive what armor it is, but its the only thing that it reminds me of. Here is a pic of said armor. Can anybody confirm this as the mythril breastplate?

Ok strange, I have killed IT mobs to the LVL 30 with no exp to me but no level up and today NPC leveled up when I changed to job that I get exp with. I am confused about how it works.

You can only replace the pearl once per 24 hour period, basically you can replace it then you have to wait till a new RL day JP time before you can get another.

Ah okay...

I was going off that other thread where the guy was saying you could replace it three times a RL day, once every game-time week. I see what they meant now. If you time it right you can use it 3x a day, but it's over the System Update (12 JST) time.

ok this might just add to the confusion but here's my experience:

went to jungle with my rdm lvl 33 and my friend rdm lvl 34. we called out npc at the same time (both lvl 30 npc) and fought mandy
and gobs. didn't count how many kill but we made approx. 500 xp and
after 40 minutes both npc left at the same time.

warped back to jeuno and checked our buddies. new armor , still lvl 30 and now have option to set job. dropped pearl and got new one. i kept my npc job to shield and my friend switched to attacker

back to jungle. i call my npc but my friend didn't have the new pearl equipped yet so she had to wait 30 sec before she could call her npc. now that's where it gets interesting. we kept fighting mandy and gobs (even took a few vt gobs easily) for close to 40+ minutes and a little more than 500 xp ... until my npc decides to leave mid fight!! we finished the mandy and started to rest and exactly 30 seconds after my npc left, my friends npc took off also.

so far some people have mention the 15 kills theory but then why would my npc leave mid fight? it should have left before the fight if the 15 kill mark was achieved on the previous mob.

some other mention set amount of xp but then once again why not leave after previous fight once that amount of xp was achieved.

3rd option would be a set amount of time(which make sense since my friend npc left 30 seconds after mine when she called it 30 seconds after) but some people mention their npc stay anywhere between 15 min to 1 hour.

so base on my experience last night, the only logical explanation
would be the 3 options ( xp, 15 kills or amount of time) depending which one is achieved first.

any thoughts on this ?

So far I've leveled my NPC with my summoner 4 times (1st time on rdm did the accidentally click and disappear thing.. 5th time on rng not knowing about the zoning thing). While my summoner leveled (level 9-10) my NPC has not lol. She's changed eq each time I check up on her/call her out but hasn't leveled at all. I haven't counted how many mobs we killed each time but she stayed different amount of time for each call. Each time she leaves it's also during the fight but at the very end (1 hit away) where she says the let's call it a day thing and disappears by the end. I've sat and goldfish fished for periods in between killing mobs and she just stays there for however long I fish. If it is by time then I guess time goes by a whole lot slower than I remembered while fishing.. she's never left while I fished.
