I think a rule should be place in affect when asking a question about your npc in this thread.
Where you leveled, what you leveled on, and what level were you.
This all depends on if your npc will get exp. If you are fighting mobs lower then 30 ( which would be lower then your npc ) then you prob. won't get any exp or at least horrible exp.

After around my 12th session with my npc i opened up the option of trading a new tier of weapons to Luto for my npc to use, dont know if this was mentioned yet, but thought i'd chip in my experience.
If anyone found it odd that the first G.Katana you can trade is the Uchhigatana rather than the Tachi, well dont expect to upgrade your G.Katana. I tried the 4-5 G.Katana following the Uchigatana trying to upgrade, without any luck.
On a sad hunch i attempted to trade a Tachi, with success >.<
Seems someone at SE messed up the programming and set the Uchigatana as the basic weapon and the Tachi as the upgrade :P

Me and my NPC:
Day #1:
Today i finally got my NPC too. First i got him with the wrong face so i did the quest again and got exactly what i want. I read different posts and threads here on alla and decided to go out and fight some stuff with all the info i got. Well, at day #1 there isn't much of a choice then just fighting stuff with your new friend. Since he's lvl 30 from the beginning i thought it might be a good today to start with some easy stuff that can't kill him with one hit, so i outpost-ported to pashow marshlands and called my dear NPC. I widescaned for the 'thougher' stuff like Marlboros and Gobbues as well as Gobbies. I pulled hate with some hits and let my NPC kill the mob by himself. After a few fights he said: "A fruitful day. I believe we reached our quota." And then he left. *crys* I ported back to San d'Oria and droped my signal pearl *uuups* I got a new signal pearl at the rondevouzs point. Since the mobs at Pashow were very easy i decided to test Rolanberry. We killed Berry Crubs, some Quadavs and Bees and after a few kills he said: "I take my leave to you. Until we meet again." There he goes again. *crys* I may be wrong but ..."A fruitful day. I believe we reached our quota"... sounds alot better then the last one. Tomorrow i think i'll go to Pashows again.

okay, i just tried trading luto a Brass Zaghnal, and a +1, and she would not accept either of them. she took my butterfly axe tho, but is a lot weaker than the zaghnal ; ;

I think the above list is for day/summon #12 one. When you can give "upgraded" item to the Mithra. Not the starting out one. There is one step before that consists of mainly bronze equipment etc.

Oh, and I just checked my lvl 31 npc, and now she is wearing the lvl 49 Mythril armor set. How cool is that?

my NPC was only lv 31 or a day before leveling to 32, killing goblins and dhamel in altepa near outpost, it level'd to 32 yesterday and today it didn't level and only say'd out 27 mins. mine is a slight ****** b/c it keep casting silence on rng goblins
Just got mine to call 12 and the 'thinking about upgrading her weapon' point, I'll see if I can find anything new to give her.

As much as i wasn't interested in getting an NPC of my own I was quite amazaed that I actaully put forth the effort to get mine :P. Well I did the quest and blah blah couldnt find help with BC ghelsba so I decided to solo it. lvl 32blm/nin, she sure is a good tank ^^.
Well I get her and all that so im thinkin I gotta g ofight EP's to go lvl her. Qufim here I come murdering bats and weapons until link and death to both of us.

I KNEW there was something fishy about that. Thanks for the advnace info, i will not be 'upgrading' my NPCs Great Katana tomorrow. ^^

7th outing
Area: West Altepa Desert
Mob: 13 Desert Spider & 2 Desert Dhalmel
WS: 11 Blade Teki, 5 Blade Retsu, 3 Blade Rin
SC: 11 Impaction, 5 Detonation.
I used Cyclone for all, thus no SC when she uses Blade Rin.
Time: 43min
Weapon: Kunai (didn't dual-wield despite trading 2 kunai)
Damage: 10-16
Same thing, after session ends, went to check her at RV point.
New armour set ^^ as usual :D
I bet after the next outing, her body armour will remain the same, but her leggings and feet armour will change.
Side note, taking Henrietta out was both fun and rewarding :D got skill-up for shield XD

Luto will take Bronze mace but not Xiphos +1
i'm too tired to read all the posts, and i'm on my way to bed, so i'll be breif.
i equipped the Cesti on my Healer type npc.... and well she sucks *** with it. she attacks as if she had no weapon at all, and just used her 1 fist to attack... with a long long delay. she did pull of a Combo, once.
so i think when we swtich "styles" of fighting, we are changing the job as well. its not like a pld/war or rdm/war or war/whm who can tank, DD and heal, its actually changing their main job.
i was killing clippers and Ba in Batalla downs as a 27 rdm/blm, and my npc is still lv 30 for some reason... anyway, i almost died several times because with the Healer style and H2H she maybe pulled in 100 damage over the whole fight.
hope this helps anyone from doing what i did >.> switched to attacker with H2H. this should be much more effective i think.

Day 7 - NPC dinged 31 about 4 fights into the call. I forget if she casted some sort of buff on herself, then dinged
I gave her an axe, and she always managed to pull hate away if I turned my back away from the mob. My normal attacks would usually bring the mobs health down then I would turn my back, so it came as a suprise.
She still needs to get rid of that lvl 1 RSE though ><
and anyone know exactly what filters I need on, to see her Dmg? I have most turned off for when I xp, but it sucks not being able to see what she's hitting for.

I turned off the NPC related ones and that seems to work.

so far between lvls 30-32 the npc will only stay for 15 fights

altepa seems to be the best place to level them from 30-33 fast, mine level'd to 33 today after killing 30 something goblins and dhamels near outpost. dispite all the mobs i fought were easy prey i didn't always get exp for the dhamels but my NPC level'd within half of the total time he was out

Since altepa goblins have been good for me i'll go there tomorrow and probably will hit 34 since i've gotten all level ups there (first time i used him was in the jungles) once it hits 34 i'll try somewhere else maybe oh well Altepa rules for levelign it fast

1st outing: Altepa Desert (at Rabao entrance), around 10 fights (spiders & anticans).
Result: Except for Chain Hose (lvl 24), the rest of her equipment is lvl 40 lol.

My NPC is horrible when it comes to gear.
First time she got metallic legs.
Time after that she had lost those and gained green feet.
After that she had also gotten green hands.
Then she got red feet.
And now she lost her feet and have red hands.
I seriously wonder what she is up to. She is 33 and attacker and have been called about 6-7 times I think. Yesterday I got the equip her with weapon option. Been fighting Gigas and Demons in Xarcabard. Been doing the dropping the pearl thing.
I wonder why mine isn't dressing as cool as yours :/

Raka a white-Haired Mithra is my Npc so far we gone out 3 times Day 1:
Me as a Summoner Rolandberry field meets/dc/ep stayed for quite a while and then stated she was exhausted and left. Checked new gear no new options.
Day 2:
Checking forums decide to try Sauromugue Champaign vs ***** and anything as a 75 war/whm (the original getto pld) so cute for her to try to tank for me really but when I hit for over 2xx she never got touched. Lasted very very short then she states hit her quota and proof. Checked her new gear it seems no new options. ;;
Day 3:
Same as Day 2 no level but new option to change her combat style and I switched her to healer for our next outting and checked with luto and she had nothing to say >< I really wanted to give her a new weapon darn it.

There are many different armors that look the same, like silver mail( lvl 36 ) looks just like Chainmail( lvl 24 ). Now I am not sure if you can actally check there equipment some how but if you are you are assuming that they are wearing a certain armor, all you really know is that they are wearing something in that armor style.
