Hello,

Just a minor correction to Jacobsdeception post, I have tried farming in Xarcabard. Demons there do not drop Demon Horns. I had to check after farming for awhile and no drop. Demon Horns are dropped from Coffer Demons and higher level Demons.

No rate downs, good information. Just wanted to be accurate.

Good Luck and Happy Hunting.

Unfortunately, I have to get into farming. I have taken my BLM just about as far as I can without doing it. Now, as everything I need is about 200k+ I have to get started. I used this guide before and it works great! Here is my question though:

Without /thf (as mine is only a level 15) how much longer would you say it will increase farming time compared to someone who is /thf? Just wondering if I should focus on leveling thf for a while...

Saruta tip: The first time you get a Smooth Stone, put it in your mog storage and leave it there until you never want to farm silks again. If you throw them away, or give them to Chamama for the quest (which will yield minimal gil about one time out of 3), you will just get another before you get any silks. If you farm crawlers on the hill in West Sarutabaruta, you may also get a Meteorite which you may also want to hold onto till done farming, if you don't need it for the non-repeatable quest.

Another general, basic farming tip is to only choose one or two types of mobs to kill at any given time to allow you to stay out longer while farming. If you kill indiscriminately you will fill up your bag with bits and pieces in no time and have to make frequent trips back to town or have to throw a lot away. Most may know this but not all new players do, and have to figure it out the hard way, as I did. At early levels, most don't have gobby bags so they have even less space to store their farmed goods.

Level 15-25
North Gustaberg:
Zegham Hill
Maneating Hornet - Beehive chips, honey
Goblins - Gil, wild onions, armor
plus you might catch Stinging Sophie, she drops a dagger worth 10k or so
Approx 15k/Hr if not many farmers

If you're serious about farming, then wouldn't either THF/RNG or THF/BLM be ideal? That way you get TH 2 (and if you're high lv and rich, a thief's knife + Assassin gear with the TH mod. Sorry, I can't recall which piece it is, but this gives a total of TH 4)

Then you can either have widescan to help the hunting, or warp for a quick trip back home. :)

Most of this is great information.

Concerning Sanctuary of Zi'Tah Goobbues:
On many servers, these are dominated by gilseller teams. For example, the Angle group on Asura monopolizes them. Although they have great moss and cutting drop rates, I've had better luck with Rolanberry/Pashow goobbues due to less competition.

Also, while stealing from spiders in Boyahda Tree can certainly be lucrative, please be considerate of any parties levelling on the Bark Spiders there. You should be fine if you focus on the spiders that are far from the main campsite, though ^^

If your thf is 15 that's great, assuming your blm is over lvl 30. Always sub it for Treasure Hunter I. If you don't you will definitely notice the difference in drop rates and your farming time will be increased by a lot.

2. Rams are perma-camped by RNG/THFs and THF/RNGs with mid level leathercrafting (rams are these player's main source of income) If you aren't one of the above you will not be able to claim them unless they aren't there (i.e. almost never)

often find times when no-one is camping rams in la theine. lots of legwork without rng or rng sub (even gimped is good) i use rdm41/rng7 lmao. just sell the stuff, skins and horns 6k each on my server atm.

If it was mentioned and i missed it, I'm sorry.

The sanctuary of Zi'tah: area around entrance to the boyada tree.
Mobs: Goobbue farmers (Lvl. 45-50ish)
Drops: Tree cuttings, Boyada moss

This is what i farmed when i was saving gil for Vermillion Cloak, and Hauby.

Made about 800k-1mil a day for close to 10 hours work, With TH2, i farmed with my 65 thf, but you can farm this area with as low as 55 if you bring some bloodys. anything lower than that is just asking for downtime. Also, check jeunos AH price before setting out. my numbers were based on AH price of 100-130k a stack.. these sold like 50 a day too. With the boyada moss, i always saved these for ppl in my linkshel who needed fame. they are great for trading to Meylon in selbina. Raises fame in Bastok and san d'Oria, which in turn gives you jeuno fame. Plz note, i tried farming this b4 i had my thf lvled with pld, and without TH2 the drops were far too rare. i thk i made 1 stack in about 2 hours without TH2, and i avg about double that with TH2. still good money either way.

One additional trick i do as well.

Davoi: Orc Troopers (like lvl. 55-58 mob)
Drops: Gold Orc Mask
Requirements: Someone in pty or yourself to have Goldsmithing 50+

I love farming these with my thf, i have high enough Goldsmithing to Desynthesize the orc masks into Gold Ignots, which are big money any server.
Mind you the masks are EX so only the person who recieves them can desynth, but the ignots of course are not ex, so you can still distribute loot after synths if it is a team project. You will want TH2 for this, the drops arent easy, but the gil is worth it.

DWAYNAS MUCH MUCH MUCH BETTER GUIDE TO FARMING!

1.Adopt a small, poor chinese family (any other country that works for slave labour prices and has internet access will do too, eg. Poland)
Who needs TH when you have the luck of a thousand exploited people at your disposal.

2.Get yourself a pimp hat, a pistol, a whip, some hired goons (and possibly a throne).
If youre gonna be king of your sick little world you might aswell do it in style

3. Rake in the pennies!
After being master of your slave household for just a few days youll notice amazing gains and probably many other perverse perks totally dependent on how you run your ****.

TO MAKE THIS GUIDE I JUST STALKED SOME RMTs FOR A FEW HOURS!!!!!!!

These are all great farming tips, but the best thing you can ever do is know your market.

If you get level 1-19 armor/weapon drops, then you'll generally get more money in a Starter City AH then in the Jeuno AH.

If you get crafting mats used for common items, typically Jeuno is best. If the crafting mats are skill-up mats, the Starter city with the respective guild is typically best (Alchemy mats sell best in Bastok, for example).

Selling stacks of low level items that raise fame are always good money. Bat Wings, Zeruhn Soot, et cetera.

Don't forget crafting either. A healthy mixture of crafting and farming is the fastest way to riches (until you can simply HQ everything lol).

I cannot overstate the importance of the thief skill: Treasure Hunter. I must have farmed a couple months without TH. After I leveled thief to 15 and acquired Treasure Hunter I noticed a marked improvement both to my drops and my bankroll. If you are serious about farming then do yourself a favor and get thief up to at least 15! And if you really want to help yourself out then get thief up to 25. Upon hitting 50 with your main you will have 'Flee' and you will love it.

But know that even though you can level THF to 15 or even 45 on garage sale gear not caring about the job and giving career thieves a bad name in the process. You will never be able to match the drop rate of a thief with Assassin Armlets and Thief's Knife. They will always be there giving you the finger and saying "haha, my drop rate > your drop rate so **** you"

I thought of it first:

Great guide! Thanks a lot. ^^

I'd like to add that I see many people in Crawler's Nest farming Maze Lizards for Lizard Eggs. This is on Alexander, so I don't know about the other servers.

The OP is evil. Now my hunting spots will be overrun by noobs who are unresourceful. Now inflation will increase even more, and nothing will be worth farming.

On the plus side, crafting will be easier....

edit: Not being *too* serious, btw. But the inflation thing is kinda true.

If what you say is true, then your hunting spots have been overrun by noobs for a year now. Check out the OP date. This thread was made a year ago. It was necroposted.

Can I make a recomendation for Konschat Highlands (and maybe La thiene)? Grain Seeds drops of Saplings are also good. similar drop rate and the sell for 30k as opposed to beehive chips' 17k on my server.

Edit: Necroposted sorry! >. < my bad, should have read the date... Still a great post though.

Yeah, but now that they've been reminded... Think about it! >.> Back in the day, prices were stable, but now, prices on things have gone waaaaay down. I'm not talking one set item, I'm talking about the whole slew of farming items. Back then, the noobies were able to make their gil offa crystals. But now that prices are going down on everything, they gotta look elsewhere, right? I mean, come on, Korroloka has, not only the three set RMT there, but noobs farming without TH, even.. I mean, their competition is minimal, but it's annoying as hell to see undercutters *keep* undercutting..... More and more are moving on to bigger stuff, because their crystals only sell for 1-3k a stack now... The end is near, I can see it!

On a side note, Slash Pines in Ordelle's Caves drop Dolphin staves, which are 70k on my server :3

Edit: Oh, and aside from my lack of noticing when the thread was posted, I guess I could say that the noobs that have overrun my spots *could* be the RMT... xD

:( Unless they changed something recently, Digger Wasp in Carpenter's Landing do not drop honey or beehive chips, only insect wings.

Which is really too bad because it would be nice to be able to step out the back door for alchemy farming.
