Ooooh... ouchies... doesn't sound to pleasant. Did you check to see if she was subbing thf at the time you claimed her?

Diddnt think at the time to check the HNM difficulty or job, I was sure my /charm would not fail me...Now i am spamming shouts in jeuno for a tank to join and take some hate off me, knowone else seems to want to fu*k with the HNM that i initially engaged, MY stoneskin and phalanx only lasts so long. I am needing to play solo for a while. I always seem to have this continuous aggro, while consistantly disengaging and CALL FOR HELP. Help I am being chased by HNM at <f-7>

I guess that's what you get for using your "Marriage Proposal" job ability too soon. Always check the HNM to see if she has thf subbed!! Other then using the /divorce command, there's not much advice I can give you, especially since there's a taru involved.

I am thinking of grabbing my taru and shouting for a quick teleport....hmmmm and go camp out at windurst where my lil taru will fit in perfect, and /blist HNM, just after /divorce command

Yes, but then you have to do the BNCM thingy a lot, because she will place a GM call and try to at least get visitation. I know too many people that have tried that... You just can't win against a HNM like that.

Zanibar, I went through the topic and rated up every single one of you posts. I don't understand how you couldn't recieve the Sage status for that awesome post.

P.S. I like using my double thrust Weapon skill too. But its bad to use it before you get the claim...

5) Whatever you do, let her think that she is in charge!! Pretending that you don't really want to control her life every single second of the day will actually have the opposite effect and cause less aggro in the long run.

And...

2) Stay calm. Allow the HNM to vent the aggro. Admit that she is right, and you are wrong no matter what logic says.

Are not advised for use on HNM "Smart Cute Chick" or any variation thereof. Doing so may result in counter-use of /dump command with little to no warning because she will believe you are using the "Patronizing" job ability. You can tell if you have a "Smart" variety of HNM if she is often logical (even if it has to do with emotions) about what she is upset about, remember, women are just as capable of logic. Instead, engage her in a discussion on the subject and use the job ability "Work Things Out."

Very funny post, even if it does have some things I disagree with. Have to love those deep-seated misconceptions.

I'm having trouble with my HNM claim... i've macroed it and i am getting a hint message saying "Target has been Claimed" but the HNM's claimer is in another state... should I wait until his claim dispenses and then try to claim with a fast cast macro? PLEASE HELP zanzibari!

Awesome post but I have few questions.

I have been thinking of camping the "Gamer Chick" HNM. The problem is I really have no clue where they spawn or how to appoach one. Any info this "Gamer Chick" HNM would be greatly appreciated.

You could try, but it could come and kick you in the rear end. Be very very sure the old claimer isn't the type that aggros across mutliple zones!! 'cause he could show up one day and lay the smack-down on ya!

Most likley the best place to camp "Gamer Chick" (the absolutely RAREST of the HNM's, btw) is to change your main job to "Game Store Salesman". Of course, you could try camping at "gaming convention", and some luck has been experienced at "Walmart" (with the main job of "Electronics Associate"), and camping Rennessiance Faires. Good luck, and let me know if you get lucky!! (You might have to settle for a non-gaming variety, and hope to convert the HNM at a later date).

Odd that this thread has gone down from 5.00 to 4.91 with all the rateups... ahh well, guess you can't please 100% of the people 100% of the time. Even when you are trying to be funny.

Just a couple of things you may want to remember:

1. Claiming one of these HNM's can negatively affect your ability to party. Using the /ja "Marriage Proposal" has been known to make it impossible to party at all. This varies from HNM to HNM.

2. Never EVER try to claim two HNM's at the same time, especially after using "Marriage Proposal". It is possible, but your fellow campers will hate you, the constant use of the /sneak ability can wear you out, and if the HNM's ever become aware of each other you will get more aggro then you could even believe. Say goodbye to Double- (or Penta-) thrust for the foreseeable future, and, if you HAVE used "Marriage Proposal", you could end up losing a lot of your high-level gear and gil.

Not to mention your mog house and/or any tarus that might have spawned from the HNM.

A few more things I thought of:
Never try to claim an HNM that a friend has already claimed. It rarely works out (as a previous poster said, if she jumps claim once, she'll probably do it again) and you stand a good chance of having your friend remove you from his friends list and /blacklist you.

If you do manage to claim an HNM, don't whip out your spear and attempt to Double-thrust right away. You'll either get /dump'ed or she'll activate Hundred Fists and /slap you silly.

If you do manage to get to a point where you can Double- (or, for the more adventurous, Penta-) thrust, make sure to use Protect on yourself first, or you may end up with a Virus status, or some unexpected spawns (or both!)

Yeah, never under any circumstances trust the HNM when she claims to have taken "the pill" buff. This is usually a very clever way of trapping you and your wallet.

Damn, this JP camper claimed the HNM right before my eyes..

What's the respawn rate?

Depends on the camp location and time of day. Also, sometimes weather conditions play a factor.

Neat trick, but I hit the wrong macro and launched my "One Inch Fist" WS on the HNM..thus increasing hate on myself. I died. My HP was so far. Good thing the HNM had raise..I came back to life, but the hate was so high, dealt from my WS that the HNM killed me again.

I lost a lot of experience points that day.

Ouch!! Bet you won't be doing that again, eh?
