You get that message when you're near some buried items from a goblin digger. If you don't dig directly over the spot, you'll get a "near" message. You may have just been lucky enough to dig near a spot that a digger recently buried something in.

Today I tried that Goblin Digger thing.

I followed him for a good fifteen minutes before he finally buried something. Two digs and I got a Goblin Die.

I followed him for another 20 or 25 minutes and he dug something again. I used more than 2 stacks of greens trying to dig that thing up .. went all over the place and finally gave up.

*sigh*

I wish there was a faster way to raise choco level up .. been digging for a week and still level 1... I have no idea how I hit level 1 .. I barely dug before I found out these times, heh.

Seven? Well I may be on crack, but I hope I come off better than a seven year old *shudder* most of them can barly make a decent sounding paragraph.

I think i'm gonna put my filter back up to default again to ignore the frusterated poster who seems to enjoy screaming at everyone who disagrees.

That should keep smartiekjm from appearing on my screen long enough for my sanity.

P.S. If you wan't us to remember you, post a charachter or shut up.

Anyone who is not willing to show their charachters name online is a sockpuppet to me.

I always personally have good luck with goblin diggers, i just watch were they dig reeeeeally carefully and try and get the exact spot.

I am absoloutely positive SmartieKjm is a puppet, he created 3 threads about a week ago and all got bombed below default and he has had many individual posts bombed as well... yet he manages to keep his rating above 2.6... intresting.

OMG Smarty~! Your are a damn thief as well! You know that the font you are using was originally created by Benjamin Franlkin for use in his original editorial newspaper?! How could you not cite him for that! Hey everyone! Smarty is a phony! A big fat phony!
You said it yourself! Always give credit to the original creators! Everyone else is just copying! *******. Takin' the credit ole Ben deserves. And don't even get me started on how you posted on the internet without citing the original creater, Al Gore (haha! That's my sorry attempt at a political joke../sigh), and your use of the english alphabet made by a man in a cabin that had his original idea for the alphabet burned down after and incident involving his lover! How could you not cite all these people smarty?!

"Copying from one person is plaquerism. Copying from many is research." It's funny because it's true. Just deal with it and stop whining. Great post Walker! Easy and understanable, good layout, way ta go!

Heheh .. No, I created the internet ... they just don't want you to know it! .. >_> <_< There's a spoon in my ear!

The referenced joke is copyrighted Scott Ramsoomair and VGcats and has no affiliation with me, Dedendre, in any way shape or form and I take no responsibility for any insanity and/or death it may cause.

In addiiton, with that 2nd chocobo. He dug it in a place I couldn't dig at >< grr.

I'm wondering, when digging, does the chocobo dig where his head it, or where his feet are?

Update and info?

I finally hit level 2! woot!

Anyhow I have a piece of info I've suddenly noticed. Mind you, this is a THEORY.

I think a chocobo has a certain 'stamina' count when you board it.

I don’t know what determines this ‘stamina’ count or everything that can affect it.

When you board a chocobo it may have a stamina of, oh, 3 for example.

Every time you dig and pick up an item, you lose one stamina. Over time, your stamina is increased (undoubtedly there’s a cap)

I noticed this because I would go out digging. I could use two entire stacks and hit two or three items then keep getting nothing for a minute or two. Then I might hit another .. then empty and so on. I would get off and get another chocobo and I would usually hit a number of items without missing or without missing often right off the bat.

I’ve yet to conclude what can affect this ‘stamina’: Level, weather, walking distance, area.. or if it’s completely random.

Again, this is a theory … and just a theory. I’m only level 2, so what do I know? Heheheh. Just something I’ve noticed.

I just stumbled across this thread because Walkercrisps linked it from the tradeskills forum. Whoa! This guide is so full of misinformation, I suspect it may have been intended as a joke. Also, just so you folks know, Walkercrisps claims to be a level 7 digger in this thread and a level 4 digger in the other thread.

What level is your choco digging Walkercrisps? Because I find your guide fraught with errors and misleading info. The guide on Somepage may seem sparse but it is 100% correct. If you are looking for strategies to level choco digging, follow the link below to my journal and read my choco digging log.

My linkshell has a level 7 digger.

This guide is what i have used to level up and it hasn't really seen me wrong yet.

Just thought you guys should know in case someone full for this.

Ok im a little confused on the "dug up zone" thing. So theres a certain amount of items to dig, the items respawn everyone 1-2 mins, but whats the significance of zoning when you start to dig nothing? Do you mean just dig in another zone, or does zoning and coming back do something?

Dumb question, perhaps, and on a cold thread, but here goes:

Does one riding a chocobo get a warning -- such as, "Your chocobo riding time is about to expire!" -- before your time runs out and your choco runs off? I suppose I should know this already, but I'm fairly new to riding (and even more so to digging), and I'm usually riding through places like Battallia or Jugner where mobs could kill me by breathing on me ... and hence I'm just hurry-hurry-hurrying out of fear I'll run out outta riding time.

Question: Double Ice in Glaciar./. Can you dig ores there? (or can you not get choco there..?)

Digging up certain items to progress a level isn't true. My first outting EVER on a choco with some green in yuhtunga netted me 2 rosewood logs.
