Funny Noob Sayings. ^_^Follow

This one I did:

Just last night I placed an earthen flowerpot in my Moghouse that's been taking up space in my mog safe for a few weeks now. I thought you couldn't put it in the layout until you had seeds.......

This is the best thread related to FFXI on any site I have seen.
Having said that, I registered only to participate in the Noob bashing.

1) I have a friend that bought the game, and became an Elvaan RDM. I help him get up to level 11 or so, and it is time for him to learn how to group with other players. So we get invited into a party (all 11-12, no subs), and head to Tahrongi. Unfortunately, my Rdm friend is the healer. We attack something and the tank does his job and keeps the hate (!). My friend heals him 3 times and then goes into melee. I /t him that he should keep healing the tank since we don't have a Whm. This ensues:

<him> : If we can't kill this thing by the time I cast 3 cures, then he doesn't deserve to be healed.
<me>: But you are the healer, he is doing his job by taking all the damage. You heal him.
<him> WTF? I am a better tank, I hit for more damage. I cast cure 3 times!!
<me> *Tries to tell him about tanks as meat shields, hate keepers and the healers job*
<him> F*** that, he doesn't deserve heals.

I had no idea what to say...he ended up leaving the party soon after. I just apologized to the party and went on my way after that. Thankfully, my friend no longer plays FF.

2)One time running through Tahrongi, another Mithra stops me and starts talking. He (I'm sure it was a he) starts going off about how we look the same. I just humor him and agree, trying to be polite. Then a person on a choco rides in, and he proceeds to talk to them for 5 minutes or more. "How can I get a chicken?" "Wow! Look at that thing!" (Of course, he talked in 'leet' and without proper spelling or punctuation.) Just utterly enthralled by the bird. I took my leave while he was transfixed.

A note about the player in 2) - We are near the same level and the same job, so I see him all over the place when I exp party. I get the feeling that he does not know how to do his job on top of the fact that he is incredibly annoying. At one point in Qufim, his party disbands him and picks me up instead (quite the compliment). For 10 minutes, at least, he whines and complains about being booted and asks to be let in. They tell him that we are full. All the time in /p we are sharing horror stories about this person, which could take up another thread entirely.

And send back when im pwning with my whm, I have to try whm/drg job though. Myabe i start dragoon leveling today.

Kinda bad of you saying rampaging ram drops leaping boots, now i know where the increase of dumb newbies comes from.

"OMG, wtf, rampaging ram just killed me in 1 hit, and it was critical too, wtf!!"

You should at least say information that is true, like leaping boots is dropped by leaping lizzy in south gustaberg.

Was farming the 3rd floor of the Palborough Mines and saw a THF/WAR under level 20 run past me /shouting:

"omg smoking does kill i went afk for a cig and now i'm gonna die"

Followed by a Quadav train. XD

Yesterday I realized for the first time that the AH price history is supposed to be read down, not up. Explains why many a time I couldn't sell stuff I thought was priced normally. Not to mentiona a big !$##! for having unknowingly undercut rising prices all this time... o_O

Has anyone else ever done a death warp (switch to level 1 job, walk outside town, aggro a mob, die) expecting to wake up in your home city, but when you look around you realize that you forgot you had set your home point in Valk dunes?

Yes folks, not once, but twice I've had to run to Sandy nekkid and scared s***less.

I'm not using death warps again.

One that I did, and still do:

Fighting in Ghelsba pre-10, I almost always get cocky about slaughtering the easy prey orcs in the first couple areas so I move up to try to find "better" xp. I do fine for the first few kills, then I decide to try 2 at once for whatever reason. I'm taking them just fine, but I forgot abou tthe other 2-3 spawns in sight that I'd killed earlier. They respawn, my level 9/4 is hit by 5 orcs at once, I reappear in south sandy.

Fun times, and I know I'm going to do it again :P

Overheard in Windurst, near the AH. All in shouts, making it all the more annoying/funny.

<Noob1> Beastman seals for sale! 200 gil!
<Noob2> What are those?
<Player1> You can't sell beastman seals.
<Noob1> I can sell whatever I want!
<Player1> No, I mean the game won't let you. *Proceeds to explain Ex items very well*

I was stunned. This player took a relatively large amount of time to explain the whole process and these two just had no clue. None at all. I think the players final response was something to the effect of "Wow."

This is my very own noob story.

When I just got the game and installed it, did all the patching and finally I am playing. I log in, get my cutscene and try to remember what they said about the marker to find Jack.
Do all that and everything is fine, I leave my mog house and start to chat with every npc I see to get quests, So far nothing,
I then come across a Mithra girl NPC who says something about Ballons, but the word Balloon was in red.
Now me being the old EQ playing saw a different coloured word and went to town.

For a good 10 min I stood there trying the word balloon in every sentance I could thing of to get a quest. By the time someone told me not to bother I had about 12 people standing behind me holding their sides from laughing so hard.
I told the person who sent me a /t that I was from EQ and I thought it was to get a quest. He said he figured that and so did everyone else after the first 2 min of me talking about Balloons. I asked him why didn't he mention anything sooner? his answer, Sorry it was just too funny watching you, We were actually wondering just how many sentances you could come up with using the word Balloon. O.o

He then took my Taru hand and helped me for 2 hours straight. Sheesh what a noob moment

ROFL! Thank you for the laugh, I have been sitting here at work reading this thread, and when I read that line I actually saw it happen in my head. I can't stop laughing.
