A paladin in Garliage Citadel, voking bats off me (the WHM) and not stopping even when he was close to zero HP (and I was near full).... I told him I could take a punch or two, and if he didn't voke off me so quickly, i could take a hit for him, and get another heal in for him as well, esp considering he was so close to death. "It's OK if I die," he said, "that's the way I play it. I'm here to protect you." Total class act.
Another time, as a level 17 still mostly noob, I died in Valkrum. The party vanished, and I didnt realize it would save me time and energy to just respawn. One charcter, a thief, stayed by me, sitting on the ground, while a friendly WHM came to save me a few HP. Wow, a friend to wait with you even after you were dead.
The non-exp stories now are getting to be my favorites.
