4 years ago, no one would have cared about someone posting a site to get 'old skool' vg music. Now, with all the paranoia of the evil beast known as the RIAA, no one wants to cross the line and I can't say I blame them. The bully tactics used by large corporations such as the RIAA will eventually kill off the music industry as we know it.
It's not like we can even walk into a store and buy a cd called 'old skool VG Music, Volume 1'. It's simply not available anywhere other than as a download from the Internet. But, the fact remains that having the music is technically illegal, so we can't have access to it.
It's like all those amazing covers that you hear by bands during live shows or concerts. You can't get them in stores, and you're not supposed to download them.
I used to listen to a variety of bands and buy the cd's of the ones who had more than 3 good tracks on their disc. Now, with all the paranoia, I either can't get any new music, or it's garbled when I get it. I've simply given up and I'm sticking to my top 10 bands. If they release a new album, I'll buy it. Everyone else can kiss my a$$. I'm not spending any more of my money on an industry that resorts to bully tactics instead of a better solution. I don't know what a better solution would be, but it's really not my job to come up with one.

btw: FFXI is amazing :) I just wish there was an easy way to lvl up my 'enhancing' magic as a RDM. Maybe then I can stop getting raped by Orcs.
PS: To the person who posted above me: As long as the music is copyrighted, any reproduction of that music in any form is illegal without the written consent of the author and/or copyright holder. All VG music is copyrighted along with the game itself. Therefore *technically* it is illegal to have a copy, even if you own the game itself. But, I challenge you to show me one developer or composer of VG music that has a problem with me having the music on my compute.
