2 things:

1) im sure this has been discussed before in length but i cant find it. does allakhazam have a search option? if they do could someone direct me to it? if not they need one..

2) i hear alot of people talking about killing others when PvP comes out but the thing is that it seems to me that PvP is much different then PK. has anyone seen any details on how square plans to implement PvP? i could imagine it was both players having to set PvP flags or even joining your home cities "Army" to fight the other cities "Army". the second is an interesting concept.

people who keep sayiing that they are going to kill these other players on these message boards i think are wrong about that. im not so sure that you will be able to walk around and kill whoever you want.

any info would be great

This has been discussed at length, I'll just be saying this:

There WILL be no PK

Square has promised PvP. I hope it's slighty seperate from the game. Have a seperate area you can warp to if you want to fight.
That would be cool.

I kinda think it would be an arena too. It is a bit Square-style. I would really dislike complete areas where PvP battling is possible.

An arena like the one in Gold Saucer in FF7, or like the Arena in the calm lands in FFx..... *rushed by a gulf of nostalgia*
I must have spend so very many hours in those arena's. lol! It was a great aspect of the game though, but i doubt PvP in FFxi can make the gameplay much better.
