ive included 2 versions of the story because the first is as detraied as i can remember, and the second is just a summary...

1 i am an alchemist so in my crafting career i went to east sarutabaruta and tarongi canyon area to find two leaf mandragora buds i was hunting them in east saruabaruta and my brother suggested i go to tarongi canyon to find them easier, when i went there the first pygmaioi i killed dropped the bud, then a few more kills with no drops, i decided to go back to e. sar. again the first mandragora i killed gave me a 4 leaf bud and the second gave me a 2 leaf, i noticed a pattern and went back to tahrongi to test it again, it worked a few more times, then it stopped, i logged out and logged back in and the pattern started to work again

2 i went into an area and the first monster i killed gave me a rare item i changed zones and it happened again, the pattern continued a little while and stopped, when i logged of and logged on again it worked again

does anyone know what happened, is there a better chance of getting items when you first enter an area or is there some kind of rare item counter that resets when you zone?

But there can be some amazing coincidences.

I've killed the same yagudo priest five times in giddeus, and it's dropped a key every single time. Others have had less luck with the guy, so it seems to be chance in my favour. I think things like this are lucky charms, and help remove the monotony of farming. Doubt they're real (could be wrong) but as long as they don't hurt anything like "manual dodging" in PTs, I enjoy seeing what people do/have found.
