Can't catch anything all the sudden.Follow

I recently got to level 10 fishing. Before I went to take my test, I was catching moat carp like crazy, and when I ocean fished I got something about every other cast.

Then I took my test for fishing. While I was there, I got imaging support and fished for a while. I caught a fair amount of fish with it and got to skill 11.

Now it has worn off. Since it was a full moon today, I pulled out my rods and lures. My catch rate is WAY down. On the exact same bait and rod I caught tons of moat carp on, I am catching nada. Same for ocean fishing. My sebiki rig isn't catching Jack all the sudden.

I haven't had this bad a result fishing since I was skill 1.

Is fishing just streaky like this, or is there a bug/penalty when support wears off?

I also broke 7 rods. But someone told me that was due to it being Firesday. He says lots of rods break on firesday.
