Let me second Slayers and Record of the Lodoss war and Princess mononoke.

Castle in the Sky.
Spirited away.
The 10th Kingdom mini series. (Yeah I know someone got this first)
The Current Lord of the Rings movies. (duh)
The Fisher King.
All the classic Jackie Chan movies. Drunken Master!
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.
Conan
Merlin (Sam Niel Miniseries)
Willow (just OK IMHO)
Seven Samuri (then you must watch The Magnicifent Seven and Battle Beyond the Stars. In that order)

Seems like I am missing a semi cheesy tv series from my childhood I can't quite recall.

P.S. 13th Warrior is a version of Beowulf.
P.P.S. The Big Lebowski is perhaps the finest movie of the century.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Ruroni Kenshin/Samurai X by now. Excellent anime. They are both the same story, but Samurai X is a more mature treatment of it (more complex themes, not boobies).

You guys got some great movie ideas. I'm making list and picking up the ones I dont already have (man I forgot all about Krull - I loved that movie!). I'm gonna get the anime too, all I've ever seen is Akira, DragonballZ and Samurai Jack (is that anime? it rocks)
