Ok, I think I may have messed up my subjob...
My main is my lv18 Monk, and I wanted to sub a Thief. Now, the only charecter on this account was my Monk - my thinking was to select a Thief, change to my Thief and level up to 9, switch to Monk, level a bit, swwithch back etc ect.
However, and I'm not sure how I did this, I now have a Lv1Thief/Lv1 Monk. My 18 Monk is still there, but i can't change to him. It strikes me, that in a moment of not paying attention, and blind stupidity, that I may have set my main as a Lv1 THF and subbed a Lv1 Monk. Can I reverse this so I can have a 18Monk/1 Thief and level up my thief to 9?

Simple as this when your thief lvl 1 your monk will be lvl 1
When your thief lvl 10 ----> monk lvl 5 etc
Now to get back to Monk lvl 18 do the following
1. switch sub job to any job you currently not on
2.Switch main to Monk
Voila, you just cant change a job if its equipped so if you want to go back to monk as main you cant unless you take it off sub job.

Change your support job to something else first (I.E. WAR), then try changing your main back to Monk. You should be able to set your sub as THF then if you'd like.
You cannot level THF unless it is set as the main job, so in order to level your THF, your current setup 1THF/1MNK is correct.
However, if you wanted to switch back to MNK, you would have to set your subjob to something other than THF first. The game does not allow you to automatically switch your main and sub jobs, so you'll have to change subjob to something like WAR, change main to MNK, then change sub to THF, then you would end up with MNK/THF.

One thing to keep in mind is that you only gain experience towards whichever class is assigned as your main. So if you want to lvl your Thief you'll have to have him as your main. Goodluck!
