I've been trying to find typefaces (or close matches) that FFXI uses for in-game text.

Specifically I'm looking for typefaces that will match:

General Text

Numbers

Any suggestions on suitable alternative typefaces would be appriciated.

Have you tried looking in your FFXI install folder? The have to be there somewhere... might be hidden in some sort of dat or compressed file though.

I'm at work right now, otherwise I'd look.

Or if you're extremely bored, you can always make your own by finding enough examples in screenshots, copying them down and getting yourself a little alphabet of bitmaps. And then of course, I'm sure it's a simple matter to turn that into an old style bitmap font, but I couldn't give you a utility off the top of my head.

I couldn't spot which dat file the font might be in. I've considered generating one but the problem is, I'm more than likely going to have to use a font that's "close" but is a standard font included with windows. Need to have this for a web application.
