Anyone have a guide or know links to them to get skill ups in Blacksmithing? I made it to skill lvl 16 with a lot of trial and errors using different recipes and cost me quite a bit of gil, almost 100k gil. I know the advance synthesis npc at the guild gives you recipes, but if someone has climbed this gilburning hill...please share.

Well I don't know anything about smithing I do wood and bone working but I do know there shouild be 3 npc (not including the guild master who gives test) in each guild that gives you recipes. There is one who will tells you items you can create and won't give skill ups, another who tells you what item you can make that will give you skill ups and another that you mentioned that tells you about advance syn.

You not try doing the advance recipes for skill up you will most of the time and lose money. Since your skill is 16 you should be able to tell which npc is giving things to make which you won't give skill ups. Once you know that talk to the other npc and try those recipes. Another thing I suggest is always get advance syn support it worth the money and it last a long time. So if you want you could get it and then run to AH/bank to perform your syn then go back when it runs out if you have space issues.

Thanks for the reply, but the info you provided, I already followed. I thought that was implied in my post. I always have synth support on when in town. And yes gil explodes into dust when trying recipes too hard for your skill. I'm gonna retrace my steps and make a beginner's guide for any interested. Looking back I think I burned more than 100k gil on trial and error...and dont wish anyone that pain.

The guild recipe lists are very good.

Gives min and max levels for items.
Minimum for trying the recipe.
Maximum for the point at wich you will stop recieving skill ups for that recipe.

Works for me.

It is missing some recipes I think, such as one that use goblin drops for blacksmitthing, but they can be picked up from this site.
