i have done a quest over 80 times, and i checked with the person in town, and MY FAME DID NOT RISE! whats going on, is there a time when fame is tallied, like when conquest is tallied? or does it take time for the quests to take affect? please help me!

Re-doing quests doesn't rise fame. The way you rise fame is by going to the guy who casts the signet on you and give crystals to him.
NOT TRUE... by givin crystals to signet guy... you raise you RANK (missions... not quests), not your FAME.... By doin quests you rise your fame... but you have to do different ones all the time... e.g. you cant rise your fame only by givin flint stones to that woman in bastok...

i was told that repeatabe quests allow for fame raise, so when you run out of quests in a town, you do repeatable ones to get fame high enough to undertake more that require a higher level of fame.

Yes alexandria, you are right... but it is not unlimited... thats what i said above... your fame wont rise from ONLY doin 1 quest...
Donating crystals does, in fact, raise *rank* and not *fame*.
Repeatable quests do raise fame, but it appears (at least to me) to raise it much slower than one-timers. Also, different level quests give different amounts of fame.

i did the selbina mission to deliver le thiene cabbage to guy by the sheep. it costs 125 for the quest with a 100 return, so not much loss, but 80 times adds up.
What you have to also understand, while your fame does marginally increase from doing repeatable quests, some quests rely on "triggers" from other ones.
For instance, a few quests in Sandoria cannot be received if you haven't finished certain other ones revolving around it, not even necessarily by the same person.
Thus, I would recommend finishing as many of the easier quests as you can. Your fame will rise quickly enough.
Fame is instaneous, it doesn't take time to "tally up" or anything like that. :)

Doing repeatable quests will only raise your fame so much. After that you have to do different quests.
did you chck in selbina town or your home town? it will probably be different. ie, your home town fame wont let you get quests in another town.
you're probably doing this for jueno quests, if so, be sure to check what jeuno fame tells you.
also, i recall that to repeat on this quest for better fame, you should mix the items you give. not only cabbages, but also the corn and moss. otherwise, you might be giving the lowest fame item on a repeating quest which may not give you as much as various other single quests.
