Yup, I am from windurst, and I like the maze, I dread valkurm, everytime I go there, I either wait for 2 hours doing nothing, or I get into a horrible group and get nothing done. But I don't like being a leader, so starting up a group to go elsewhere isn't for me. I like the maze because you are right there from tarohgi canyon, which is an excelent place to solo or group from 11-15, better I think then the highlands. The zones seem the same on the surface, but when you walk through them they seem so much more different in little ways. This basically means I can solo/farm while I wait for a maze group.

The problem is there isn't enough people around, you will be lucky if you find any whm, let alone one in your level range since everyone has gone to valkurm, but ya, most of the people that don't go to these places are people that just can't stand them because of the idiots, meaning they know that there is the dim chance for better. If you do make a party, and ask people from valkurm/qufim/khazam to go elsewhere, and they say, "No way, this place is the only place for exp." You know they are not very great players and just sheep. Great players are willing to go out and find that fabled sweet spot to get 3 levels in one hour and have everyone in the group laugh at how they will afford the next 10 levels of armor by tomorrow.

And besides possibly getting nice exp, exploring is fun, when i ran through mariphataud mountians and saw that big spiny thing I was like, "OMFG!" My 5 year old nephew was like, "Are you going to fight that thing?" and I was like, "I hope not!" I bet there is stuff like that all over that half the people in the game haven't seen.

If you have problems with facing the same mobs over and over again, maybe you should just play forward and gain some levels. Once you hit your upper 30's and mid 40's you see a lot of new creatures. Sure you still run into worm type creatures, spiders, dhalmels, but there's new types of beastman races available. Tonberries, Anticans and Shangans are all races that you wouldn't see as a lower level.

I was out exploring today with my 45 Blm and came across a Lesser Manticore, pretty badass looking, but I'm sure it'd mop the floor with a party around my same level as well. My point is, you don't see EVERY one of the same mobs again and again, there is something to look forward to at higher levels. :) I haven't even tried out Beaudicine Glacier yet, but I hear that there are a lot of really interesting mobs out there. I can't wait to actually put together a group to do my AF1.

And all FF's seem to have this problem (at least the ones I have played), the same models with different names. They did a real nice job on the models they have, but they sure didn't make many, or even make them unique. At least in EQ they change size, get new skins, ect, so you would get tiny snakes, spiders and rats to start, then you would get bigger, and bigger ones with all manner of different colors and textures. Additionally every EQ expansion I saw (Kunark/Velious) had 90% new mobs, maybe even 99% new, if they are using the same old models in the expansion, well that is inexcusable.

I dont like Quifim, but I do it because I know I must.
I'm half way through my term there, and I know I must press on in order to recieve advanced jobs.

This is the stuff that seperates the men from the boys =P

OH MY GOD!!!

There's another Mookie in the World...different servers, same name and race...anyone else having a twilight zone moment???

Hello my other self!!!!

As to the thread, yeah, Qufim sucks and the crowds bog everything down. Reason why it's so popular is cuz it's the path of least resistance. You have one of 2 options.

Find a good group of people and put them on your friend list and stick with them. A good party can overcome any adversity. And if the area get's too crowded, find another good camp site, anything on the coast or in the corridors or right inside Dekrutf tower is good. Second, get back to the zone point during nightfall, cuz undead are nasty.

Second option, explore the surround countryside. I leveled up in Rolanberry fields. Their around the same level. Try Batilla downs or Sourmeign Campaign. Also, deeper in Sharazi maze or Gusgen mines or a hundred other places is good. Takes a bit of leg work to find out what its good and what is not, but it's worth it in the end, and you don'thave to deal with crowds, you do however, have to take charge and become a leader.

Be well my other self!!!

Well yeah it is, but theres two options:

Go to a place that has Easy prey or decent and kill everything in your path..

OR

While in Qufim, just keep chaining clippers and pugils away from all te ppl.. clipp times three then 2 pugils, ull be 28 in no time (considering that you dont have the typical "I want to go into the tower" kind of guy, or the "afk 1 sec" every 2 minutes)
