As a lvl 12 war i know how to provoke and do it as often when possible and use it when I know the battle is hopeless to draw the mob off so my party can escape. But is it alright if I see that we can defeat the mob but I will die if I keep getting all the damage- to let the mob damage someone else for a bit and voke it off before it does bad damage? I wonder this when the mage is not healing faster than the mob is damaging and the mob is almost dead but I see I will die first while the black mage and white mage in my party still have full health.

I once tried this- we all survived- the black mage health was 75% and he rode me pretty hard about that- havent done it since.

It's a perfectly valid call. You're the tank, you're in charge of aggro, and you have just as much say in how to keep everyone alive as anyone else in your party.

However, if it backfires, expect to take the full blame.
Not saying its right, just telling you my experiences with MMORPG's.

The BLM was just scared cause he had a mob attacking him, or didn't trust the fact that you could provoke it off of him. Did you explain why you did it to him after? Not only that, but if you died, most likely the thing would've grabbed the BLM or WHM next anyways. Doing what you did allowed the healers a chance to catch up. A couple seconds could make or break a party.

Oh well, as a tank in other games I've done the same thing many times, and if someone had a problem with all of us living as opposed to some of us living, then they could get the hell on.
It's backfired a couple times, but all in all, saved more lives than it's lost.

Forgive me if I'm rambling, getting late and my brain is fried.

The mob should never run fo the mages, if the mob stays latched onto a PLD with good gear then a WHM will have no trouble keeping his health high.

Adjust the resolution of menus.
The main screen resolution for "FINAL FANTASY XI" is dependent on the "Overlay Graphics Resolution" setting.
If the Overlay Graphics Resolution is set higher than the Menu Resolution, menus will be automatically resized.

I thought of it first:

Damage should be distributed evenly amoungst the Tanks and Melee support (if nessicary), not the Tanks and Casters.
Even distribution amoungst the tanks will slightly reduce downtime due to the increased collective HP regen, and also make it possiable to fight harder MOBs that deal higher DPS.

The reason casters hsould not tank is because of the casters low defence that prevents them from taking damage well (They have less hitpoints and take more DPS). The higher you get, the lower the relative defence of the caster becomes, and soon enough they will drop like flies, so this is not a good practice to get into the habbit of doing.

DPS = Damage Per Second.
