First of all. Whoever loaned a 4mil gil item to somebody is stupid. Nuff said.

Second. Hong Kong police could do nothing to a North American player. Nuff said.

Third. If the loser jumped out of a window because he lost a item in his game, he had some other serious emotional problems that would of triggered this at any time, this was just the thing to send him over the edge.

Fourth, quit posting this retarded dribble. thanks. If you get screwed, suck it up. you screwed up by trusting them, get over it.

[sarcasm] Yeah, that makes sense, lets just believe everything we read from people trying to "help" us on message boards. In fact, come to think of it, I bet all those people emailing me asking for my bank account numbers really do want to deposite money in there to. [/sarcasm]

Seriously, 99% of the "cheaters" you read about online are just leaders of groups that kicked someone out and the other person got mad and wanted to get even. These kind of posts are pointless and unprovable. I'll probably check the AH when I get online out of curiosity, but I won't blist simone or say anything to him, I wouldn't be loaning something worth that much to a "friend's friend" anyway, lol.

And like I said in my first post, if it was worth 4 million gil, I'd bet anything that it was a Rare/Ex item.
And yes, I'm rating this down again. This is so much crap that I hope Allakhazam "loses" this thread the next time they do maintenance. It's not ignorance, it's just common sense. Expensive items are always Rare/Ex. There's so many holes in your story it isn't even funny. If you got into a spat with this Simone person on Shiva then deal with him or shut up. Telling people to avoid this person isn't going to make you feel any better.

Edited: and JaxonPally, send me a tell sometime. We're both on Siren server.

Funch, there's no such thing as an expensive Rare/Ex item. Any item with both of those is officially priceless. Why? Because anything with Ex(ceptional) on it is untradeable, and therefore unsalable in the AH. You can't pay money for an Exceptional item, only acquire it yourself, so it can't be expensive. ^^

Rare items, though, are certainly tradeable, and indeed are usually the really expensive ones. It's not always the case that a super-expensive item is Rare, but it's pretty common. Rare by itself has no effect on the item though, it's just a tag to let people know.

Both points taken.

I just feel that an Ex item still has a price; how much is someone willing to pay for your character(s) and account?

This is from the Hong Kong police web site(http://www.info.gov.hk/police/hkp-home/english/tcd/intro.htm):

Online Games Theft (Theft of virtual Property)

"In Hong Kong, the popularity of online PC games has increased tremendously over the past year, especially amongst youngsters whose security awareness on the use of Internet is relatively low. Many of the games offer virtual weapons which can be purchased by players. The higher level you attained in the game with your virtual weapon, the more monetary value your weapon is worth.

Recently, there are increasing number of complaints regarding virtual weapons being stolen from online game players' account. Some complaints also refer to online gaming accounts being misused thus accumulating large sums to the victims' monthly bills. From the Police's enquiry, there are several ways in which the culprits could have stolen the virtual weapons or misuse the accounts:-

Social Engineering - victims could have revealed their user ID or passwords to their online game partners or even to close friends thus allowing their accounts to be abused by the culprits
Plug-ins - Some victims revealed that they have downloaded plug-in programs for online games so that the game can be set at "auto play" mode. These plug-ins are often downloaded from unknown sources and some may contain hacking program such as Trojan Horse.
Safety Tips

Password control
Never download software from unknown sources "

So basically, what is illegal in Hong Kong is what is illegal everywhere else. Nothing mentioned about someone willingly handing an item to someone else. Did HK police thank caller for wasting their time?

I think you all have all missed the point here... Think of those little Tarus running around with their cheery rosy red cheeks. They are fed thanks to the kind donation of this item :) Now can't we all just feel good and fuzzy about that?
