Will a Taru make a good Ninja?Follow

I've been playing a elvann warrior for weeks now, and im sick of it. Although my damage is decent, my dex is so low that I miss on an average of 50% to 60% percent of the time. What's the point? Other than tanking, I really serve no purpose in a party. I hate this. So I'm thinking about making a new character. I want to go with a taru BKM, because I want to do more damage (I missed out on that as a Elvann). But what does everyone think of a Taru as a Ninja? Are they any good, and what are the advantages and disadvantages? I know nothing about Ninjas, what their spells do and stuff like that? Can anyone answer my question?

The race will influence just a little bit the good or the bad of a job. After that, it's your skill. If u take ur time and build a character that u love, u can even make a taru Dragoon/Sam and it will not be bad. I play with a dragoon/war taru, and don't see the difference, or just slightly, but in a good group anyway, war are not to make damage, but to keep aggro on them, the one that are dealing damage to mob are the BLM, RNG and MNK.

So just choose want U want then u will have a good character

Personally, I'm not really impressed by the Ninja job altogether so far -- I'm a lvl 16 NIN/WAR tarutaru atm. Considering the huge amount of time & effort that it took to do the Ninja scroll quests and the price of burning a stack of Shihei powder every other level for 4k a piece, I have no intention of playing Ninja long-term as anything other than sub for my THF.

There are better advance jobs that are more worthwhile, but that's my opinion. Dual wield is fun, but the damage isn't there and Katana are both rare & expensive. The powder hogs valuable space in your inventory and can be more expensive than the scroll itself.

just like igtenos said, ninja is both expensive and time consuming (doing the quests) but I am now a lvl 21 taru NIN and I love it. I don't do the most damage, but I do hit a lot of the time, and I'm never lacking for a group or anything. If you have the patience to do the quests (which i highly recommend for it will save you 100 of thousands of gil from buying the scrolls at the AH) and you can take the time to level up crafting or another way to make gils, so you can either make your own powders (which I am working on now) or you can afford to buy them. Mostly, you don't waste using your powders all the time, for I usually only use my elemental ones if we have a BLM in our pt to capitalize on them, and I dont cast Utsusemi or Tonko unless I am tank (which I rarely do) or If my party is taking big hits and the reg tanks cant take the heat. basically you just have to have a good amount of time and capital to make ninja work for you, but trust me in the long run its a very fulfilling job and I am so far very happy.
