having trouble with the soundFollow

This has also happened to me on 3 different occasions. The first time, I rebooted and it went away. The second and third time were in succession. A reboot did nothing, but then the sounds came back as soon as my character stepped on a section of ground that triggered a new sound effect. Wierd glitch. No idea what causes it.

I have a theory that it's reliant on how many SFX channels you enable in the FFXI config menu. I think the default is 12 simultaneous sound effects, but you can change that value. I've never changed it, but it would seem very logical now that I think about it.

Thinking back, the first time it happened was on the beach in Valkurm and there were 2 other parties within earshot. That would easily ammount to more than 12 sound effects.

Anyone else wanna verify this?

it happens to me too when i was at the beach.. i can only hear the ocean wave sound and not the spells and weapons effects.. I tot i went deaf. -.- it recovered when my team moved away from the beach.. but it happens sometimes randomly.
