Make sure you have your Signal Pearl equipped whenever you do a npc related quest. If you do have it flagged I'll bet that's your problem.

Didn't see anyone answer this yet so...the quest is repeatable once every earth week. Your NPC will mention the "Emptiness" when you can repeat it.

I wish they would put an update out for this and raise the lvl to 70 or something already.

Also, one thing not mentioned in the guide above...For Regaining Trust, your NPC Fellow must be at least level 51. That is the prerequisite, along with proper level of bond.

<Hmmm> my npc is level 63 (nearing 65) and if they do indeed have A rating in all weapons that does mean that they will cap at 225 when they reach level 65 and thus get persay.... shark bite so i can chain off of that with hexa. can any one confirm that they do indeed get 225 it just seems to be too perfect to be true.... how it lands exactally on 225.

hey, npc hit 65 tonight and yes indeed they do get 225 weapon skills a <Spinning Slash> > <Hexa Strike> made me very happy

It's already linked in the legendary sticky, I think.

I think "The Fellowship" quest series is about due for a continuation, Why?

1)Lvl 65 fellows with maxed out bond STILL can't lock the final armor piece
2)During the "Mirror" quests AhtUrgan was mentioned I believe, which leads me to...
3)WHY IN THE HELL CAN'T WE SUMMON NPCS IN AHT URGAN AREAS?
4)NPC fellow with new job, {[]Green[/]Can I have it?[]green[/]. I'm ready for an "Assassin type job, one that combines NIN with THF. Something new please?
5)Fix it so NPC Fellows don't use AoE weapon skills! It sucks seeing all of your hard efforts at lvling NPC go down the toilet because they decide to use Shockwave etc.

Hell SE could even do a new story arc, with you reuniting with your NPC over in Aht Urgan, at Salaheem's Sentinels of all places (nightmarish) or at the teahouse.
You could do "special" assault missions where you have to take your NPC with you. Nothing really major, but will still give you some I.P. and assault points for completion, without having to burn thru your tags.

Just an idea ~.^

I was reading at FFXIpedia that the weapon upgrades don't effect damage. If that's true what's the point of the differnt weapons? Just for looks? I was going to buy the last GTK for NPC, but now I see I can get away with cheap weapon GTK and have same damage. Is FFXIpedia wrong?

The wiki info came from an SE representative, so if its wrong, SE directly lied to us. However, I believe upgrading weapons increases your affinity with your NPC. And then there's the aesthetic reason like you mentioned.

Got a question,

Does Stalwart Shield tank relatively good against DC or Em or T? or does it takes huge damage and requried a lot of curing? Thanks for the help.

It doesn't do all that bad, and as a bonus, cures itself like a paladin, so ends up doing pretty good hate wise. It also spams Provoke every 30 seconds.

Not too shabby.

Whats meant is "Lower lvl weapons being the same damage as higher leveled weapons" is that a lvl 1 "bond" axe is going to have the same damage as a lvl 7 "bond" axe. The different weapons are for increasing the bond lvl between you and your NPC and its also for looks.

For the past week, I have not been able to get the NPC Fellow equipment to go beyond lvl1 gear of any one nation. I have a reason to believe something was changed/broken in the update, however I need confirmation of this.

I have used up to 13 Tactics/Signal Pearl charges over the past 1.5 weeks in West Sarutabaruta. My NPCs Gear (all locked except for Leg Armour) has change from where it started, Seer's (lvl3 Windy), to lvl1 Windy -> lvl1 Sandy -> lvl1 Sandy -> lvl1 Sandy -> lvl1 Sandy -> lvl1 Sandy -> lvl1 Bastok -> lvl1 Windy -> and finally now lvl1 Sandy (I may have missed some in there). Regardless, everytime the NPC gear changes, it only goes to that of another Nation and at Teir 1.

Either I have extremely bad luck, amd doing something wrong, or the update is the cause.

Can someone please confirm/assist in this matter?

Are you killing max kills when you summon your NPC?

Yeah i would think you need max kills/xp for the npc to accomplish tht.....
#2049 Jun 19 2007 at 4:53 PM Rating: Decent
Max kills in approx. 8-10 mins (30 mobs)
All in W. Sarutabaruta
GM says generic "Check community websites. It may have changed... maybe not."
Today I even tried killing all water based mobs.
Windy was controlling and had major dominance.
Legs changed to Sandy lvl 1 again today.

I have not tried to kill all Yagudo yet .. it will be my next attempt.

I'm really clueless... I've never had a problem w/ this before. 1 Week before the update I got Hara-Ate from Ronfaure with no problems at all.

Can anyone else attempt to check this out for me? Thanks in advance :)

I'm having some trouble as well. When I locked her leg piece, I took her out and lvled again somewhere else and her whole outfit changed, even the legs I locked. WTF? If I can only take her out in specific areas to keep the equipment set that i want, what is the point of locking them? help...me....please!
#2051 Jun 20 2007 at 5:37 AM Rating: Decent
Go figure. As an alternative test, I did Max kills in Sandy controlled area; legs went to lvl2 Sandy (Bastok Influence, killed all Yags just for the fun of it)

I will report tomorrow on all Yag kills in Windy controlled area.

BloodyWhisper, what area were you in?
