Note for you GKT NPC users:

In Nashmau you can buy the Kiku-Ichimonji for like (I could be mistaken on this) 500k (seems to be like Norg as I went back later and the NPC didn't have it).

My NPC Fellow is leveling ahead of me. Today it hit lvl 52 while on my highest job (lvl 51). It's official, everybody is racing to lvl 75 passing me in levels and now my NPC fellow is doing the same...

On the topic of ToAU. This kinda sucks I was hoping (and expecting) that they would add more content for the NPC fellows.
Hopefully they will activate calling your NPC in these areas later.

Next update will be between mid June and late Aug, hopefuly we'll get something then.

As far as I have tested, NPCs cannot be called in ANY ToAU zone.

This is really dissapointing - there are a lot of areas that would be perfect for leveling them from 60-65 there too...

Maybe with all these tough new mobs they'll bump the cap up.

I hear pretty much everything in the new zones will aggro 75.

That'd rock. What makes you think so?

Since the FFXIclopedia Adventuring Fellow Guide is the most popular FFXIclopedia article, and this thread is unwieldly at best, and people are looing for new places to post/discuss their NPCs, I suggest a new topic over on the FFXIclopedia forums.

Should provide a nice home for all things NPC related, not to mention easy intergration/updating when new quests/NPC items are released.

I'm not sure if this has been asked or not, but if I change weapon type for my NPC, do I have to start from level 1 of that weapon again? Or just continue as I left off?

And a question regarding gear too. If I unlock the previously locked gear, would it continue the progress or start from 1 again?

Thanks

Damn its a pity I didnt know about the bug, it would have served me so well while leveling subs now... >_>

Aside from that hope that SE gives us some Npc stuff, its been so many time since last additions, I still have to level a bit but that its not going to last that much...

Nope. I believe you have to trade the equivalent level weapon of the type you are changing to before upgrading, but could be wrong. I know I got my NPC to the highest level scythe before getting sick of the AoE weapon skill, so switched her over to Pole Arm by just trading her the highest pole arm, and she took to it just fine.

I'm not sure you can do it with a group but I can give some advide on winning the fight...

Set your NPC on Stalwart Shield and you go as a DD or mage. Let them keep hate as they won't take any damage from the Blighted Gloom move. Then you just need to hurt the mob which isn't that hard.

I did this fight as a rdm and fought half nekkid and used a club. It was a cakewalk.

Mirror Images
Summary: Save Palometa from her mysterious captor.

1. Talk to Luto

2. Prepare for level 50 capped fight and go to Qu-Bia Arena in Fei'Yin

Some info:
- you CAN'T use Sleeping Potions / Opo-Opo Necklace for TP gain (it will reset to 0%)
- you CAN'T use Reraise Hairpin (it will wear off)
- you CAN use your subjob in this fight
- set your NPC to Stalwart Shield / Shield to negate the effects of Blighted Gloom - stand BEHIND your NPC when you see Blighted Gloom approaching
- your opponent has about 3500 HP
3. Kill the opponent :)

4. Talk to Luto

5. Click on the door in Neptune's Spire

Just thought I'd elaborate on this a little. I was able to get this quest when my NPC was only 47, so I believe it to be an NPC bond issue, not a level requirement. I should mention, though, that I got my NPC to 50 before attempting this. Basically, all you have to do is travel to Qu'Bia Arena ( eastern part of Fei-Yin ) and click on the burning circle.

I freaked out a little at first when I zoned into the BC, because my NPC was nowhere in sight. It turns out they spawn when you're about halfway up the tunnel to the main battleground, and they wait for you to engage.

The mob's name is Vassago, and it's a rather large, ugly, scythe-wielding demon. I set my NPC to Stalwart Shield ( I would STRONGLY recommend this, especially if you're a mage ) but I did manage to take a stray hit- 120+ on a 50BLM. Ouch. My NPC would take about 70-80 per hit, but he would Cure IV himself whenever he got low.

When Vassago readies his special attack, Blighted Gloom, make absolutely certain you stand behind your NPC. Don't worry, you'll see it coming. Provided you're safely behind the NPC when the attack goes off, both you and your NPC will take no damage, and your NPC will retaliate with Blessed Radiance, which does a fair amount of damage to the mob.

I nuked as best I could, and cured my NPC whenever I thought he was getting a little low. It was a fairly easy fight, and the only item I used was a Yagudo Drink. Both me and my NPC were near full health at the end of the fight, but I was out of MP. All in all a fun fight, don't be afraid to let your NPC tank this one so you can avoid Blighted Gloom. Not sure how much damage it would do, but it looks like it would hurt a lot.

I was able to give my NPC a Mythril Lance which is level 6 in NPC-wise terms (dunno if I could give her a Kamayuri but didn't bother since it's less DMG, wasn't keeping track of how many times Luto talked to me about weapon changes).

She said:

"-Aoshi, I didn't want to believe my eyes, but...
-I saw Raka Maimhov going into a weapon store carrying one of our gifts...
-Why would someone want to visit a weapon store after rrreceiving such fine prresents from us?
-If you still wish to give Raka Maimhov new weapons or shields, I'll gladly handle the deliveries. Just keep in mind that they might not be going to good use..."
