I am in a quandry...
Luto gave me "Regaining Trust" (genkai NPC 2), but Monbreaux won't give me any info.
Is this because:
A - My NPC is only lvl 52
B - Monbreaux is involded in my current CoP mission (this is what he talks about)
Will having this quest open interfere with getting "CHameleon Capers"?

The taru you need to talk to about the book is standing by the left wall as you walk in, I'm pretty sure the one who wants you to track down overdue books is behind the desk. Try talking to the other one and make sure you have your Signal Pearl in your inventory.

Did you go straight from Luto to Monbereaux? If you took your Signal Pearl out of your carried inventory, you could have "paused" the quest. Make sure you have the pearl with you at all times when doing any NPC related quest.
I'm pretty sure that being at the point in CoP where you talk to Monbereaux won't interfere with the quest, you just might have to talk to him twice (possibly zoning between, but I doubt it) to get cutscenes for both.
Not completing the quest will almost certainly keep you from starting Chameleon Capers though. I've never had two NPC quests active at once, excluding Promyvion, which is repeatable.
Here's a follow up to my experience boost theory (posted on page number 3).
I went with my NPC to Promyvion again, didn't use my Chariot Band, killed 7 mobs, clicked on ??? on the first floor and gained - as expected - 580 experience points (300 + 7*40).
So now I just have to go one more time (after tally), use my Chariot Band again and confirm that it boosts your NPC experience too by 25% (as I noticed this in the previous post, my NPC got 1300 exp by killing 20 mobs - 300 + 10*50 <- 25% boost).
I went with my NPC to Promyvion again, didn't use my Chariot Band, killed 7 mobs, clicked on ??? on the first floor and gained - as expected - 580 experience points (300 + 7*40).

i got a new option along with 5th weapon upgrade. under "Let's talk about appearances." the option "Fastionable equipment." showed up. what's it for?

seems to me the escort quest that you get near the zone of gustaberg in bastok market...
really old quest, is one of the first quest released with the cop expansion :)
there are two npc near the gate, a woman and a boy, talk to the girl to accept the quest and go to dangruf wadi...
you'll be capped to 20 and must follow the npc without be seen...
it seems unrelated to the fellowship npc ;)

you can select a piece of equip to lock, so it will not change anymore :)

I did NPC G1 last night.
I am really enjoying this story line so far.
Just a note, that this quest can take a fair amount of time, especially if you have not done the prerequisite quest already.
In the future I hope they put in questable items, only available to be done with your NPC. That would be cool. Maybe future weapon upgrade options that are a quest, that gives a strong weapon option. Or maybe armor upgrades, that actually make a difference, rather then cosmetic. Things like stat earrings/rings. It doesn't need to be visable, but just a way to customize your NPC stats, like we do with our own weapon/armor selections.

According one of the new interviews with S-E (either the one fro miGames or the one on theorderls.com), the new Treasures expansion pack will feature a lot of low level and solo features, including solo areas, I thnik they mentioned.
Since a lot of the NPC quests have made mention of the Near East lands, I'd say it's a safe bet that NPC Fellows will play a role in the new expansion.

i did that quest involving wadi and the child , unrelated to npc , cant be related, thank you for trying to answer my question. my npc keeps tellin me that he took a job in bastok markets to watch over a child " babysitting." if ur npc is tellin u this or have an idea, 1: why is he tellin me this. 2: do u do anything to assist or talk to a npc in bastok markets.

NPC PASSIVE TRAITS:
My NPC (currently set in attacker mode)has the War passive trait Double Attack. This activates fairly frequenly.
However, she has started countering attacks as well.
QUESTIONS:
Do NPCs have the Double Attack and/or Counter trait in Healer and Shield modes?
What other Passive Traits/Abilities have you noticed in your NPC? What mode are they in when they use/activate them?

Those traits have been known for a while.
Shield Style also has Undead Killer, and Healer style gets Regeneration.

The Mirror of Blessed Radiance is from Aht Urhgan, which is thw twin mirror of Blighted Gloom, which Luto has. The quest "Blighted Gloom" reveals the fact that there was a kingdom that used the Glass of Blighted Gloom on another kingdom. It would be interesting if ToAU revealed more of that.

I had the same situation. Just talk to him twice - first you'll get CoP dialogue, and the you'll get NPC one.

Does anyone know if you can Trick Attack off an NPC? The possibility of getting a SATA off an NPC would probably only come up in a pty with more than one PC, but at least being able to Sneak Attack and then run around the NPC and Trick Attack is better than nothing for a THF.

I think Fierce Attacker has a Store TP + X passive ablity. I've been noticing my NPC doing more skill chains.
Also, yesterday, my NPC static started with NPCs at 56(mine) and 2 57s. All of them dinged. One mob after mine dinged, my NPC left. The other 2 stayed for 5 more mobs. They were 58, mine was 57. This supports that at lvl 58, NPCs stay out for 25 mobs.
As for affection level, my NPC static all got Chameleon capers at the same time, so I don't think affection in this case had to do with the increase in the number of mobs they stay out for.

yes you CAN SATA off NPC, i did SATA retribution off him (used carby to take hate at start) on a guardian crawler when i just started lvling him, did 700 damage and got him killed lol, so You CAN SATA but its not a good idea unless u have a voke or know ur gonna kill it

Had same prob figered i had some other quest active and it turns out
that the tactics pearl quest must be finishd including geting the
