I'm a Sandorian Hume also. Bastok is so barren I could never live there. I can't even bear to spend more than 5 minutes in that place! My little sister is a Sandorian Taru. You don't see that one very often.

Don't forget San d'Oria also has all the RDM AF quests and the Lu Shang's rod quest.

San d'Orian also has nice open courtyards, perfect for playing a game of footaruball. (The current punt record is 110ft, made by one exceptionally strong Elvaan Monk. He Dragon Kicked the taru from the cathedral doorstop and the thing landed smack dab in the middle of the Carpenter's Guild. The carpenters weren't too happy to have a taru smash their work.) Bastok, on the other hand, is always so crowded and cramped. Windy is practically a maze, too.

Oh, and the Chateau is quite nice, especially the garden. It pays to be San d'Orian, even if I am a Hume. Smiley: wink

stupid elves. dont forget the bastok 2-3 mission when you head to sandy first. when you go into the castle to get your mission they even blantly make fun of the other races!!!!

tarutaru: stuttering impertinent midgets (i find that offensive personally)

mithra: purring furrballs (but they are HOT purring furballs)

galika: lumbering ironheads (well, cant exactly argue there though ^^0)

they do leave the humes alone for some reason.....

THE HUMES AND THE ELVAAN ARE IN IT TOGETHER!!!!!!!!

i still say death to all elvaan

(yes this is in the "a blm walks into a bar..." thread, and yea i know its bad><)

an elvaan thf and a tarutaru blm are walking through the dunes when they spot an old dirty lamp in the sand. the elvaan picks it up and dusts it off.

"this looks a little dirty. ill just polish it off, it shoudl sell for a decent price"

(surprise) suddenly, the magikal genie of the lamp appears in clouds of smoke and lots of flashy effects that take too long to tell about and leave time to tell the rest of the story. upon looking down and seeing the befuddled elvaan and taru, the genie speaks:

"for freeing me from that infernal lamp, i will grant each one of you a single wish."

always the one to take the initiative, the elv speaks up.
"i wish that san d'oria was purged of all the inferior races and a huge barrier constructed to keep any invading forces in or out."

the genie waves his hands and snaps his fingers:
"it has been done, and what about your wish little one?"

the taru, always being the inqusitive and smart blm asks
"so nothign can in or out, no matter what?"

"indeed, nothign could possibly destroy this barrier"

"ok good. put all of the dark lord's forces inside"

I'm so glad this post isn't what I though it was going to be =P

1) Those poor humes and galka are stuck in the most godforsaken, desolate part of the world, and we tarus and our mithra friends have been given a "reservation" to live on.

LOL

2) San d'Oria has a huge, beautiful, modern cathedral. Do you know what Bastok has? A "house of worship" the size of a midget's broom-closet in the middle of all the sweat and grime and oil and fumes of the metalworks. And again, Windurst gets the shaft. We're not even PERMITTED to practice religion. And on a related note

Windurst does get the Star Sybil, the incarnation of Altana. Bastok is full of atheists =P.

(point 2b), San d'Oria gets all of the white mage artifact quests. Everyone knows tarus make the best mages and elvaan are 2nd-to-worst, so why do THEY get the WHM artifact quests, hmm? VERY suspicious.

Ahem, we do have "a huge, beautiful, modern cathedral" =P

3) San d'Oria has the most convenient access to Jeuno...and Windurstians have to go through Meriphataud Mountans with it's annoying weaving road and stupid mountains (it might as well count as two zones). So, the elvaan have a nice, short, scenic trip while the rest of us have to pray our chocobo doesn't leave us stranded in the middle of nowhere, far from civilisation.

I agree that Sandy has it easy getting to Jeuno. After making the trip from Windy<>Jeuno dozens of times, I've gotten very good at the shortcuts (Meriph Mts isnt bad w/shortcuts).

4) San d'Oria has the easiest Teleport quest.

Personally, I think all three of the Crag Tele quests are easy. Especially if your a Whm that can Sneak/Invis.

5) Can someone explain to me why Bastok is forced to share its smithing guild with San d'Oria?

Dunno

6) San d'Orians don't just enjoy easy travel to Jeuno, their newbies enjoy the easiest travel to Valkurm Dunes as well... Buburimu and vicious undead pirates and killer octopi on the ferry (which they have to PAY for.. paying for the "priveledge" of going to Valkurm Dunes, HA!) just to HOPE they make it safely.

Windurstians should never leave Bubu Penns.

7) San d'Orians, at some point, randomly took control of Rabao from its rightful owner, Bastok.

Dunno.

8) so the game designers added an area to REPLACE the later levels of Valkurm, and linked it directly to North San d'Oria. Carpenters' Landing is the ideal place for late teens-early 20's to level, but is it centrally located for all to enjoy? I say not, my friends!

I think each kingdom got decent new leveling areas.

9) elvaan have a ping advantage when it comes to camping NMs due to their freakishly-long necks, they see the mob before the rest of us since they have the high-ground advantage... And god help you if it's your word against an elf's (yes, I used a racial slur, but it's justified! Damn those elves, damn them to hell!) The elvaan can train on you, steal your mobs, steal your wife, steal your ****, steal your cream cheese bagel, steal your house-trained beagle, and steal your bard friend's bugle and beat you to death with it, and the GMs will send YOU to jail for harassment. I know, it happened to me. "Legomyeggolas" on Fairy owes me... oh, he owes me GOOD.

LMFAO .. wish the ping advantage was true ...

10) think for a moment, about the royal family of San d'Oria. Think about the president of Bastok. Think about the Star Sybil of Windurst.... one of these three is not like the others. ...

OMFG LMFAO LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

This is tongue-in-cheek at its best. =D

Hehe, it seemed serious up till 8), but at 9) i started to believe that you might not be as serious as you had seemed.

Though i personally would prefer a green town shared with pretty cats, rather than live in a cold castle full of arrogant people with rude behavior.(NPCs)^^

Windurst actually have more than both Bastok and San d'Oria, WE have 4 mog house exits!^^

Psh, Sabo. You're missing the point. It's not that SE favors Elvaan...it's that they *hate* Tarutaru!

I wholeheartedly agree. I mean, really, y'know that exclusive bar in Jeuno? The one where only people who meet a certain requirement are allowed in on certain days? Well! I, as a Tarutaru, had to wait several days to be allowed to enter . . . only to find that the ONE table inside is TALLER than I AM! I couldn't even have a seat without jumping three feet into the air. It was outrageous! I tried walking up to the bar (which, again, was taller than I was) and called for the barwench, only to be promptly ignored. I can only imagine she's either a racist pig or simply couldn't see me because the bartop is so freakin' tall.

Ugh. And to think they call Jeuno a melting pot.

Hey, while us taru get the short end of the stick on many things, I have to disagree on your one point about the hometown arrangments. The humes have to put up with the smelly galka, the elvaans have it almost as bad with their women, as ugly as they are. And what do us taru get...

MITHRA! :)

Bravo to the taru on working this one out to our favor

I'm quite proud to be a San d'Orian Elvaan, and I still find that hilarious.

/joke on

Of course, we Elvaan are elitist with good reason: We're better then the rest of you.

/joke off

In all seriousness though, funny crap. Rate up.

Also if you'll knowtice all the cool shades are elvaan and we also got Taznavia.

Aside from that Bastok and Windurst deserve what they got.

Bastok was built on slavery and windurst represses religeon.

Bastok = America
Windurst = Great Britian
San Doria = France (yea I know, but hey they used to be cool)

Also Elvaan live so much longer than any of the other races.

Hume - 75ish
Taru (aka flys) 2 weeks
Galka - no idea but they probly don't live long thanks to the humes repressing them and making them work in the mines
Elvaan - a really really long time

If you'll knowtice The cool guy who is in afew/alot of the San Dorian cutsceens knew King Raneparre(I know I just killed that) and he's been dead a really long time, like long enough for his tomb to be in heavy disrepair, but this guy who personally knew him is still young looking

Anyway I think that all the other nations just need to give up and everyone should move over to good old sandy
