Yes, Bury and nuke will both remove posts, however you cannot rate your own posts in your journal. You'll need to get Pikko or Illia or Darkflame or someone to nuke the post in question. Just e-mail them the link. Edit: and no, it won't affect the rating of the person who posts in your journal. an awful rating will, but not a nuke or bury

Edit the post, select the sticky flag.

If it doesn't work, please send me an email.

I got over 100 emails w/ that PIF file (virus) just today. Some from "cadell@allakhazam.com" and even a few from "pikko" Smiley: cry

I ran my own virus software and cleaned out my machine. (Found three viri) Why am I getting more emails? And what can I do so it does not spread to others?

That particular virus is able to strip e-mail addresses from any text source on a computer, including cached web page files. If anyone with the virus visits these sites, it grabs any addresses from the "E-mail user" field on your posts. The more posts you have, the better chance that someone who has the virus will pick up you address as one to spoof.

Not much you can do about it other than beat people who get viruses with a stick.

Ahh...no wonder I get a few of them a week. I can't even imagine how many times you have one sent to you Kao. Did you get the email the other day from allakhazam@allakhazam.com saying, "The system's been infiltrated by a virus, please open the attachment for instructions on deleting it."

Thought that was clever, but just going to create more people that need to be beaten.

Question regarding the premium services... I've noted that the forum we get to "privately create" is our journal. I also saw that on the site provided, it has certain things that are not allowed to be posted. So, my question...

I hate dealing with MBs and making my own... so if I built a guild/LS for FFXI, would it be alright to use my Journal forum as a Guild forum, or would this be considered a violation of some sort?

I've read the entire subject on this and the website provided in the opening post, and didn't see an answer yet... so don't be mad at me if the answer seems obvious to you all... I was just wondering!

Your journal is yours. Unless you are posting something extremely offensive or legally prohibated, you can post whatever you like in there.

The router has nothing to do with viewing this site. (As long as you are getting a connection to your ISP.)

Your web browser should have a "save" or "save as" option under the "File" pull down. Give that a try... Then simply open the saved *.html file from the location you saved it.

The colors change depending on which of Alla's sites you're on. If you were to view this from the EQ site, Sage would be Green, Guru would be red..etc.

It's probably not coded in yet. It has to be added to each of the stylesheet regex's and whatnot. it will work eventually.

Gah! I keep seeing people talk about other people rating them down/up and they seem to know who exactly rated them that way. I'm trying to figure out how to see who's rated my stuff up or down, and I can't seem to figure it out.

I checked the FAQ in the first post, and I didn't see it. Could someone please let me know how to do this? I apologize in advance if it's brutally obvious and I just an ijit.

You can't see who rated you, only the Admins can.

It prevents people from revenge-rating.

Actually, you can see who rated your journal entries, just not the actual boards themselves.

I’m having trouble linking back to some of my older posts. (Namely my “weekly updates.”) I’m using IE5.5. I go to my posts, find the first post that started the thread, right click, copy link, then paste the link into my journal for easier viewing. And am getting the Main FFXI forum when I try out the link. What am I doing wrong? Smiley: confused

Try just opening the old thread in a new window, and copying the link out of the address bar.

...same results. If I posted more than once in any given thread I can use the link to the 2nd or 3rd post just fine. But something isn't working when I try to link to the post of mine that started the thread. Check out Vol. 7 in my journal. It takes you to the forum listing. Smiley: confused

Ok, the link you mentioned was this:
http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/forum.html?forum=10&mid=0#1082399890940707768&num=4
which indeed takes you to the Forum page.

Remove the # from the link, and it works:
http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/forum.html?forum=10&mid=01082399890940707768&num=4

I've noticed this too. # normally directs the link to open the page already scrolled down to a flag, but it seems that when they're used for the first post of a thread, it gets buggy.
