Minohten Mushroom quest help...Follow

Ok, EQers. Put on your thinking caps. I am stuck on this quest. I have found the camp. I am in the camp, but cant find the mushrooms. The outline here on ZAM say to find the bag at certain location. I am at the location, but.... Cannot target the bag in any form or find any mushrooms nearby??? Anyone have any advice, or know what I am doing wrong?

Udate: I finally figured it out... I was assuming the location was right, but truely you have to search around all the tents. I have found what I needed. The bags are random drops around the tents.

Grats!

More modern quests (and The Serpent's Spine falls into this) don't necessarily have the amount of data entry here that say a quest from Kunark does (1000s doing the quest and dozens submitting comments vs. way less today). For example, if only one person submitted info on where they found the mushroon that would result in the quest write-up making it seem like a set spawn point rather than what you have noted. Please add your experience to the thread on the actual quest.

TSS really varies for quality info because it was a replay from start expac, and lots of people didn't (start over). I've found the write ups for the earliest zones (into Goru'kar) pretty solid, and again at the upper end where their was armor quests and such the cap-level folk dabbled with. In between can be spotty.

I will make sure to make a note on the notes for that quest...

This is why I try to post quest info whenever I discover details not shown in the write-ups here. We all "stand on the shoulders" of the giants who did the early exploratory work of solving quests and the like so we should all do our part!

I submitted that quest, but I don't recall the details. At least I did mention it was similar to the Devan quest, which I gave quite a bit of detail on, and more than one /loc. However, from the other post (and I don't see well), they seem to be different looking bags for the different items, and some are not ground spawns at all and just there to make it harder, so you have to try many out. /showgrass off helps alot, if you have it on, but isn't so bad for the bag-sized ground spawns. The little twinkly spot ground spawns are almost impossible to see with /showgrass on.

Maybe this will help with later quests. Also, this game is full of randomness, so even when several people say the same /loc, it doesn't mean it will always be there. However, ground spawns, generally have either a fixed location or a random of a set of points.

Ahh, if Yther submitted the quest (and I was reading the write up) I would immediately think "I'm messing this up" Smiley: nod

I'll admit I was a little vague saying it was like the Devan one, but if you had done / read my posts on that one, it explained how there is a mix of fake and real ground spawns to make it at least somewhat clearer. You were absolutely correct in saying if it was just done once, for the write up and not updated, that it may be off. We generally make a few assumptions when doing them the first time from what happens, and it could have a bug, or randomness or what not that we attributed the working of the quest to. Devan #5 is a good example, as I suggested if level appropriate using a shadowstep or evac to get out of the cage. Maybe they changed it too. You never know.

They don't always put all my BS in the write ups either, as I tend to go over board explaining stuff, if I've tried lots of stuff, like pre-looting, dropping and picking up items, having them in inventory, and other things people sometimes use to do quests in a way different than the journal would imply. Or another example of leaving stuff out, is I usually post all the spells a caster casts, but they only put in the important / dangerous / level-appropriate spells. Like lots of Archer mobs cast Flame lick and Burst of Fire even at 75+ level, but those can be ignored, as you'll most likely resist them, and if not a few points of damage or debuff aren't really going to be noticeable at that level.

Jeez, I must want to communicate. Rambling tonight. Excited to see Cosmos I guess. Wish it was 2hrs tonight to start with.
