Good luck with that man.

In my opinion, 32 characters even at lvl 100 will not be sufficient to deal with current or even ROF or VOA raid content..

Harder yet if boxing the entire raid force due to the inefficiency when boxing so many characters.

IF you do some google searches there are stories about a guy who boxed 40 worldofwarcraft toons in a PVP battleground.

Most I have ever run is 5 eq1 windows at a time and honestly it didn't seem to even put a drain on my computer. Trying to control that many toons would be really hard though. I can barely keep up with 2 or 3.

What are you trying to "raid"?

Anything 80+ I don't think is very viable.

If you are doing lower old raids with overpowered characters... that changes the equation.

If it is just you... pet classes with mercs in the groups (I know mercs can't go in raids, but you would just be kill-stealling yourself if you take several groups) could probably do a lot of stuff. Have 1 core group with the tank/healing, rest as mostly ignored dps?

I don't understand the question.

Are you asking is 32 toons enough to raid, which answer depends totally upon WHAT you want to raid?

Or are you asking what kind of equipment you need to box a raid force?

Two very different questions!

And, unless you intend to cheat, a better question is how do you manage to play a raid force all by yourself? I can box a full group, and sometimes add an outside healer or dps, using nothing but multiple computers and multiple keyboards and mice but push it much beyond 8 toons and I'm at the limit.

Not that I'd recommend it, but the logistics is solved with a KVM and VMs. I'm supposing he/she has the cash to build a box or boxes that could support such loads; as to HOW to manage it all, that is indeed, something I'd rather not consider as I have enough on my hands with me, my warder, and a merc (when I use a merc).

I meant the thread as a joke but the point is how silly how some people take it to the extreme on eq. I play sk with cleric merc and my girlfriend plays rogue with warrior merc and we do quite well.

Other old-timers (like me LOL) may remember a guy used to post gameplay videos, as well as pix of his setup, when he played an entire raid force himself. I remember he simplified things by having at least 3 groups entirely filled with rangers, since autoshot is a totally game-legal way to automate dps, and rangers are such good dps, especially at that time. He did admit, though, when he wiped, it took him something like 2 hours to recover, rez and rebuff his entire force. Didn't strike me as such a fun time in a game to spend 2 hours on tedious tasks like those, especially in the "old days" when medding up took forever. If I was going to even attempt to manage 8 or 9 raid groups I'd insist on an evac-capable class in each group just to minimize recovery time with the sh*t hits the fan. (Aside: When I was a raid leader I was a big proponent of evacing the survivors when a raid event starting moving obviously toward wipeout, in opposition to other guild officers who thought that a raid force should stand and die all together. Heck, not even real armies shy away from retreating when things go real bad, right!?)

Back then also no F2P so he was spending some crazy amount like $600 A MONTH just on sub costs.Smiley: eek

It's certainly been done, though, and probably more than any of us realize.
