EQ: only got to play Friday night and burn one lesson. So I made it count in roost and got my chanter some more AA. Thinking about doing the "heroes journey" questline as I have a feeling some of the below my current level rewards will be upgrades (lol).
Real-life: got to spend most of the weekend on a boat (not usual for me). Had a fun time.

Played, anywhere from 2-3 hours on each day of the weekend. I got my new cleric some base AA's and then leveled to 78. Looking to bring her to the old faithful Gyro Zeka instance get to level 80 tonight before the double XP ends.
On the real life front, I hanged out with the boys in a watering hole after work on Friday evening/night, then came home and started EQ up though I never actually played lol... and worked for 3 1/2 difficult hours on Saturday. Sunday was relax and restoration day and an EQ session in the early night.

Finally got my Shaman and Warrior to 75 in Infected Paw...it had been 2 years since they last dinged 
Also collected like 20 Aa's for each and generally had a great time...
Love being back and just playing the game like I used to back in 99...running around, exploring every corner, and seeing just how many interesting things there are in small corners of the world...

Downloaded EQ again on a whim thursday, Haven't touched it in a long, long time. I was rather pleased to see it was a Double Exp weekend, Nice timing on my part. Playing a few hours each night I managed 5 levels and 200 aa's on my Shadowknight, up to level 73 and 380 aa's.
Spent my meager savings on some new armor and discovered quite a few new spells that weren't around before.
Had a blast with the new Harm Touch and the crazy fun the Guild lobby can provide in the form of High level Buffs. Sad to see that everyone I once knew are all long gone.
Might have to stick around a bit.
Anyone know a good guild on FV? I'm way out of touch with everything EQ these days but I wouldn't mind catching up and having some fun with a good group of people

Spent my play time on my mage. Went from 66/200 to 70/400 mainly soloing in Infected Paw plus the dailies. Not too much in the ways of actual exciting stories but nice to feel as though I'm slowly coming together.

As long as we're talking, any hints for Vergalid Mines? Should I even attempt it as a 70 Mage with cleric merc and pet? Never been there but I've been trying to rotate out my old hotzone augments for higher level versions and, since I've hit 70, figured I may as well get those into the mix.
I'm not looking to delve deep in, just farm entry style trash for the two augment drops.

Did very little, given the event going on.
Moved my 100 warrior from The Rathe to FV and used her to PL one of my lower warriors from 78 to 80 (so she could equip the set of Abstruse Ironhand armor that's been sitting in her bank for a year, as well as the 80 req weapons - Sword of the Spectre, etc) and a wizard I had gotten to 79.25 during the last 'bonus xp weekend' to 80 as well. Used the grey trick since I really didn't feel like pushing it. She's the only gold account I have active right now so most of my higher level characters are full of yellow/purple gear
Didn't plan to play at all and was going to let Merri's gold status elapse but I think I got the fever. So I'm probably going to try PLing my characters in the 70s up to 80 and get that big boost in power from Abstruse before the new expansion comes out. That's going to mean going gold on 3-5 more accounts. Michael Corleone Syndrome strikes again!

Pretty much put everything on hold to grind out 96 to 99.5 on my paladin.
Literally played all day Sun/Mon and most of Sat, was pretty intense, after getting to 98.5 went to Naggie's Lair to farm the cloak, no luck =/

I'm in the same guild as most of Jonwin's characters now too <Unholy Czars>. They existed on Quellious back when I played there a bit from being merged in from Rodect Nife (that's 1st merger round many years ago). Pretty fun to have a guildtag I remember actually :)
Vergalid was a busy hotzone iirc, but I never got into it much as my brother and I were grouping and not really right for it (he was only level 65 though). It's probably worth a try I would hazard.
Played on Friday dinged Jonwin to 95, max for him until the new expansion. Picked up 2 levels on Jonwinnie the shaman now at 87. Dailies on the rest of the crew when I was playing again on Monday. Over 2k aa now on Primrosex, Elnes druid, and Courtin the cleric. Strarted filling in on some of the missing tasks I was doing in Bloody Kithicor for the 25 ac aug.

As far as vergalid mines as a 70 mage, the big problem is getting less than 3 mobs on the pull and the green legion healers that wander up the paths. Go down to where you can pull the turtles and crocs and you should be fine. Keep in mind all the mobs run at low hp.

I went last night and pulled to the elevator (no one was in the zone but me) and then worked some pulls down the halls. Had some adds but handled them all fine. Got both augments to drop within maybe 20-30 minutes and scooted on out.
