I've been playing me Ranger on Luclin server in little spurts, basically burning LoTD. Current hotzone selection for my level range isn't appealling to me very much so I ended up in Goru'kar Mesa killing spiders (not bad) and Blackfeather roost killing bears and snakes (better). I'm still learning how to use the warrior merc with the ranger... I have been away from the game a awhile, and had pretty much only played necro the 4ish years leading up to that.

sidenote: having "flickering" issues where the EQ cursor turns into the windows eggtime and the game stutters (lag) at times. Never had this before. Also crashing eq client often upon logging a character. This is on the same rig that was very stable with the game 2 years ago so I am not sure what is up.

My goal is to get the ranger to 55 and work on some fun aa, hopefully see a power increase that makes it more fun to play.

Real life it was a busy weekend of yard work and such.

How about the rest of you?

Haven't had much game time this weekend as a result of work, maybe 3-4 hrs broken into 3 short sessions. I had my necro "powerAA" my newest cleric in Loping Plains. But didn't have much solid time for my main crew or grouping this weekend. Plan on leveling the cleric to 80, gear him up and enjoy that sweetspot for a while.

Yes, I've noticed the same flickering/lag and hour glass on my cursor mostly while kiting and casting back to back spells and it was quite annoying at times. I think that started around the same patch with the AA discrepancy issue, in mid July...Not 100% sure though.

About to log in the game for an hour or two..

I'm still around. Don't play much at all any more. Used my SC to buy up game time when it was still available, and it finally ran out. I got a Tera disc for x-mas, that I still haven't installed. I really think I'd like the combat mechanics of it, but still haven't decided to put any time into it.

I keep starting characters on always been Silver account, thinking, I'd get into it, but I never do really. Got the impulse to try to get to 90 as Silver on Yther, just so I can update the Tribute page, but then I'll have to work on replacing some augs. It wasn't too bad of a drop from gold to silver, since I had already switched from raid gear to HoT T1 group gear, so I might still work on it.

I find getting a toon ready to level, is alot tougher / longer job than it used to be. That's probably just me though. The augs on silver is annoying, but not too bad since it doesn't make the entire item useless. Still annoying to lose a few K HPs and hundreds of AC.

Well I really wanted to talk about my real life, but it seems too involved for this forum. Just need some really good news for a change, is probably why. It's like don't give up, there's always hope, but not alot of it.

Anyway, it's been great to see so many old timers posting lately. Looking forward to EQ Next.

Yther Ore.

This is a recent issue from the past week or so. Many, many people have it and it looks to be connected to the intro screen that pops up when you go into the game. They changed the page that is displayed recently. There is a sideways scrolling advert window that is the cause of the cursor flickers and lag. I do hope this is fixed now that they're back from SoE Live. It's extremely annoying to say the least. The current work around is to let the intro page fully load (if it pops up, it often doesn't), then click on another menu tab to load another page. Another "fix" seems to be: log in, log out, let the crash window show. Log back in and then it seems to be fine. PITA to have to load twice however.

Bottom line, it's not you snailish, it's them, lol.

I got my berserker to level 60. I'm having the same lag for the first few minutes after logging in. I just noticed the hour glass working in the background over and over. I checked my video card fan last night to make sure it is still working. The client is crashing when I logout of game.

Maybe we will get a patch soon, the client isn't happy.
