Beastlords good dps?Follow

#1 Oct 08 2012 at 7:46 AM Rating: Decent
I am thinking about starting a new alt and i want a dps class. I've always been fond of beastlords but im wondering if there a good dps class or more of a support with their slow and smaller shamen buffs? otherwise im thinking a rogue or necro.

Thanks!

Hello,
The Beastlord is a good dps/pet class and has its utility re slows, buffs etc..They can also solo quite well with their strong pet (when fully bst buffed) in battle and have a few great melee buffs that are sought after especially at the higher levels. Generally most groups prefer a Shammy or enchanter for slower but a beastlord could suffice well as slower once its not multiple mobs requiring AE slows.

The Rogue can solo/molo great at higher levels(aa dependent), but is more group dependent at the lower levels and positioning (the mobs back) is important to realize maximum dps via backstab. At the higher levels their various stealth modes allow them to be virtually invisible to anything almost at will..But they require a group to develop like a Warrior or Berserker does imho.

The Necro is a great sustained dps castor(via a wide array of dots) with a good pet but you would have to enjoy aggro kiting or root rotting as that is their bread and butter for experience gain.. Soloing is their forte.

Good luck and enjoy.

Beastlords, when played correctly, is an incredible DPS class. A well played rogue will outdo a beastlord in most scenarios, but a BST is no mere support class.

Edited for grammar.

Right now, my 77 beast can handle up to 3 lb mobs in vergalid mines with his healer merc j1, and pet. He can handle 2 with just pet and himself.
It is a very soloable, molo class, especially when pet gets the hobble of the spirits aa.

This is exactly what happened to me re my 80 Beastlord (my first EQ character) vs my other higher characters.

I logged him in for the first time in months, only two days ago and hes helping my young monk (51 now) out of group for now untill he can group with my higher characters...
