I will try to dig up the quote by Absor and/or JChan.

They basically said they have like one full time guy and one guy who works on EQ during his lunch break so all the effort is put into the game and not websites. This explains why EQ players is never updated.

Also as others have said, its only the "Log In" servers...so if you didn't log out, you were not affected. For instance I dont camp out of EQ, I afk in the Guild Lobby over night so my pet and I can get hit with MGB's. Woke up this morning and there I was...sitting there with more buffs then I had when I went to bed.
