Hope i'm posting this in the right place.. but i cant tell. This new allakaz EQ site just stinks IMHO. The old allakaz was fine and working just great.. And if it aint broke dont fix it.. Enjoy the crappy new page all u guys like.. I dont care for the fact that ur trying to make all of them look alike.. Am i wrong that allakaz was first made for EQ in the first place.. And if that bieng the fact all the other crap should bend over kiss daddys boots and make thier junk look like ours..
Have fun and enojy your new crap.. meanwhile i'll just figure everyting out in game and using other sites.. And no more refrerrals to use this crap site.. In fact i'll be throwing my 2cp the other direction against it whenever i hear mention of it.. congrats...

Such useless kneejerk reaction.
Alla is part of the ZAM network and as such if ZAM wants all ZAM affiliated sites to use the same template, well that's the way it goes. How does this truly effect usage of Alla anyway? Instead of having to scroll down, I can just use the menu system. Nothings really changed, you just need to learn how to use the _slightly_ different layout.

Well how about the fact that on a 22" wide screen monitor you lose like 1/2 of your screen to wasted space?

I have to admit the new site is to busy.
Pull down menus are slow
Graphics on edge are pointless

Two thumbs down on the new site interface, its a veritable downgrade on so many levels.
For those who are struggling and still want to use it the keys seems to be:
Database at the top will give you much of what was on the left side of the page before.
And the new and improved search! Well no not really, but I see myself using it alot more instead using a logical menu like we had before, think my new bookmark will be to the search page itself and skip the home page altogether, lol.

Thanks Guys. I guess there is some logic here. But, it escapes me at the moment. Perhaps a little more advertising and maybe kill 2 birds with one stone. And lets not forget, Lets complicate something simple. Not to mention very hard on the eyes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! While your at it, I think the wheel needs a few changes. Its just too damn round. That,s getting a little old don't you think. Forget about function lets make it octagonal, or something. Whatcha think??? Besides round cost too much. And perhaps we can make the wheel as a gas tank also and save on cost.

Drop down menus aren't bad, but 99% of the time I come here for the "database". I imagine everyone else does too. It should be the prominent menu that shows up at the top above everthing else without having to click it open.....similar to the original layout.

that is so that they got 4 sides on the screen to put ads on. I cancelled my subscription after 6 years and see how why the big spaces there

Love it. What I do 99% of the time is search, and it's right up there on the right. Before if I wanted to find spell list, I had to scroll down through a list of a ton of links until I found it (after scrolling back up again as I missed it the first 2 times), now I just click on spells and voila!
Come on guys, change is hard on some people, but give it some time, you'll get used to it and most likely prefer it over the old one. How many times haven't EQ changed something and a ton of people go Waaaahh!! I'm canceling! and then after a bit of use it becomes "Hey, guess it wasn't so bad anyway". Heck I'm guilty of that in regards to the item window changes they made a few years back. Now I'd love it if they only could give us the option to view items the same way here as they're shown in game.
That said, I'm a fan of options, allowing people to chose which one they use. Unfortunately though, some people would still use stone tablets if it had been an option back in the days.

Have you ever used the new alla skin on a remotely large monitor? it's awful. 40% of the page is filled up with blankness.
There are tons of things about the changes that are just flat out awful. It's not resistance to change, it's resistance to bad change.
This new alla set up makes no sense to me .. Why is the WOlfcaller breastplate the first thing I see when I log in to Alla ?? How do I get rid of it ? I liked the home page I had before.. and I am a premium member so I am not supposed to have all this grief.. Why should I have to click on Home and get more mystery? I want it easy to type in something that I want to find in the game .. like where do I find a name or an item or a mob .. or ... whatever... Very frustrating the way it is now....

What do you mean that the wolf caller breastplate is the first thing you see when you log into the site? It was last updated March 2, so it wouldn't have been in the site updates.
Ihave that same wolfczller BP nonsense ... ANNOYING !! I have tried to get rid of it . can't :(

Try posting a new thread in the feedback forum http://eq.zam.com/forum.html?forum=3 with a screenshot of what's bothering you. I don't see Wolfcaller or any reference to it on the home page. And you can make other pages be the default in your address bar, or book them or other ways, depending on how you open the zam website. I used to use this forum, but now use my personal wiki page as the first page I log into. With the shortened name like I use in the above link it's not even much typing to remember, if one a computer that doesn't the urls in the pull down bar or bookmarked.
