Guild BannerFollow

#1 May 20 2009 at 5:44 AM Rating: Decent
Just got through hunting different forums for information on Guild Banners. The guild I join has one, but no one including myself knows what to do with it. I know in WAR you can have a guild banner carrier.

Nice picture of banner but is that it?

Thanks

I have VERY limited info here - but here is what I know. Jonwin and a lot of others are much more informed than I.

The banner can be placed if there are at least 14 toons in the zone - that may have been changed at last patch.

When the banner has been place you can buy a portal stone from the merchant next to the guild port that will port you to the guild banner - cost about the same as other guild ports. Comes in handy on raids if you don't get rezzed quickly or the clerics are down, or busy healing the MT - recover in Guild Lobby and run to guild hall, grab portal stone for banner and port back to raid. Get rezzed later in Guild Lobby

It will also impart an increase in stats if you are fighting close enough to where the banner is planted - our guild usually plants ours in a safe spot tho.

In this case Eagleflight is more informed than I, since I have never been in a guild where it has been used.
Yes it can be used to build a portal.

Guild banner is much like group campfires (Fellowship) if your familiar with them.

To set a banner you must be a Officer or Leader and there must be at least 12 people within close proximity (think the size of the guild hall). These banners can be used for 2 primary uses:

- Travel: As stated above you can place a banner and when someone buys a splinter of guild standard in the guild hall and gives it to the gnome, you can port to the location that the banner is at. This Port can only be used once every 15 minutes. Limmited restrictions to zones (SoE recently opened up most every zone, although not every zone

-Statistics: Just like the campfires you can have statistics on your banner. A large multitude of choices out there including but not limmited to HPS, Mana, End, Resistances, many types of foci, illusions.

For the generic Family guild these banners are all but useless, but for raiding guilds they can be extreemely helpfull in rallying troops, quick return to zones after wipes, getting those inevitable stragglers to the battlesights, or getting just that little edge (stats).

Hope that helped

Think Sir Plough covered it all, 'cept that you only need one person to keep a banner active, so it still can be useful for smaller guilds for travel, especially for doing quests and the like, where you need to keep porting back and forth.

They also recently added the ability to plant a banner inside Meldrath's Majestic Mansion and Crystallos raid instances, which has been very helpful for raiding guilds currently hitting those zones.

I'm curious - how do you make a guild banner? My guild has the generic lion picture still in the guild window.

I've heard that some merchants in the PoK sell parts, but is there walkthrough of which ones you need, how to combine them, and what effects they each give?

No combines, you just need the supplies, similar to Fellowship Campfires, all bought in PoK, in the building near the Nexus stone. Once you have supplies (the cheapest is fine to start with), simply get 12 guild members together and have the Leader or an Officer who has the supplies on them, play with the Guild Manager window and you'll have it figured it out in no time.

As far as what suppleis do what, the names of the supplies give decent clues, and can be found on Rhondda the Flagger as Banner Material Kit: whatever.

Is this still current info? We need 12 ppl to plant a banner? Odd. considering you only need 10 ppl to maintain a guild HALL! Another thing not mentioned here is the duration of the banner. It is rumored that the fellowship campfires last between 4 and 6 hours. How long to the guild banners stay planted?
