Does anyone know if the upcoming patch tomorrow will nerf the High Hold Keep monster mission xp?

I care not at all.

Well.. kinda.. all these people out of circulation make for more uncontested zones for me.

The most positive thing I've seen from the HHK mission is the number of people who now know that High Hold Pass exists and where High Hold Keep is.

I should clarify my desire for the exp to not be nerfed. I hope they don't nerf it, because I took 2 years to get my cleric to 67, and I enjoy the fact that I can get 1.2 AA's per MM. What I don't like is people who use it at level 20 and loop it all the way to 65, because those are the people who won't have any skills for their toon and wipe high-end groups.

I think MM's should only give AA experience. That's all I use it for anyway, so maybe I'm biased.

Umm, patch tomorrow? Where did you hear about patch? I'm kinda curious if there is one so I can plan accordingly but am not seeing anything about it.

it's simple - once a MM is the only one people do constantly they nerf it. First it was WC, then BM, then SK now it will be HHK

c'est la vie

They often don't announce nerfs. Doesn't mean it was nerfed, but I'd wait for someone to run the mission before declaring it untouched.

My zerker is now level 42 and I find that if I do a MM once a level and then adventure for the remaining experience, then my skills remain on par for my current level.

I like the quick jumpstart into the next level. It keeps me from getting frustrated.

However, my 56 chanter loves getting AA's with MM and has just recently stumbled onto the HHK one. Therefore I have him almost entirely working on MM to get a few needed aa's before heading to level 60.

There was a rumor about SOE nerfing the HHK last night when I did one. People were talking about pulling all-nighters in case...

Also, I don't get anywhere near 1.2 aa's per HHK MM. It's more like 1-1/2 yellows of AA. Do upper level characters get more experience?

Yes. At 65+ you get 115% AA XP for completing the HHP one.

Yea, but how long does a mission take?
#14 Jan 18 2006 at 9:32 AM Rating: Good
The Highhold Keep mission can be completed in 15 mins or less.

I wish people would quit whining about MMs.

I leveled a cleric from 59 to 65 in about 2-3 weeks doing MMs for most of it. Did my 'skills' suffer? NO. I have my main arcane skills maxxed and even conjuration is near 200. My 1hb is maxxed and 2hb is 140.

But now I find I am broke from buying spells...damn those MMs...

HHK MM is a 45 minute cycle. Next time you finish it, and zone out, press Alt + Q to see how long the mission has taken (from 6 hours counting down), then type /tasktimer to show how long before you can do another mm.

If your /tasktimer shows 25 minutes left, then it took you 20 minutes to finish the mm and so on. And this is typically as fast as it gets; so, generally speaking, HHK MM takes 20 - 25 minutes - some groups do it faster, but not most.

The only thing bad that I take from these form of missions, is that the eq player base is getting top lvl char's with no class skills (un maxed skills, like blunt, etc), and the equivalent of ebayed players. High lvl's with clueless people of how to play at those lvls. I dont play them myself, I think they are moronic, and weaken player quality on their main class they made, and should be learning to play.

As far as the exp nerf. Its dumb, but sony does it to every content they release. They do it (make exp/drops awesome) to get people there, and buy their expansions. Once they feel they have enough, they tune it back to be gimp like every other thing they've nerfed. I'd like to see the communittee tell sony "if you cant design things correctly on release then stop releasing things; hire a real dev team, or live with your mistakes"

Hmmm.. this happened to us. All my guilds Bazaar mules hang on the same platform. And one morning, we were all sitting.. and I know we were not the night before.

We chalked it up to playful GMs (lord knows we have had them).. but.. hrmm.

Edit: oops.. damn I thought this was the "patch msg thread" (where they are talking about the MM nerf rumors) not the MM nerf rumors thread (where they are talking about the patch msg).

I don't have a problem with players doing MMs. My problem is that there is reward for no risk. If SOE made so when you die in an MM it takes away some of your experience that would be great. Until then nerf all the exp you want.

Not sure about MMs but you sure do in shrouds. had just hit a nice new yellow bubble (no blue to be seen) died in shroud and found myself again in the previous yellow bubble with LOTS of blue grrrrr. Someone said you do not lose exp in shroud. thats nonsense

You do lose exp in shroud at the level of the shroud, you can also get a rez in a shroud.

it is my understanding that you lose exp for the lvl you are.

example: your real lvl is lvl 70. you shroud down to go do a NORMAL exp camp, say you go all the way down to lvl 10, then go exp in orc 1. you get the same points of exp as a normal lvl 10 for killing thos mobs. and if you die, you will lose the exp that a lvl 10 would of lost, NOT what a lvl 70 would of lost, hense, it is harldy noticible.

however, say you shround into the same lvl toon you are, your lvl 70, and you get a lvl 70 shroud, if you die, you will then lose the same exp that you would of lost unshrouded.

NORMAL shrouded forms CAN get rez.

if you go into a monster task, and die, you lose NO EXP. hense the staments by some that say no risk for the reward. the only risk is the loss of the time doing it if you don't "complete" it to get the exp. if not completed, all you lose is your time.

clear it up a bit i hope?

LOL i still cant believe that the GMs havnt nerfed the HHK MM...i think they have their fingers up their butts while watching TV all the time to not realize this. if they dont nerf it its like not nerfing the Nektulos forest MMs when DoDh came out in the first place. i will expect a nerf in the next couple of days. i guess until then ill level my ranger and get so bored with the MM that i want it to be nerfed lol

While I have used this mission into the ground, I think it should be nerfed big time. A team of retards can finish this mission in less than half an hour and the reward insanely outweighs the time invested. On FV HHP is the most populated zone next to the bazaar and PoK.

There was no nerf to the HHK mission. I did 3 last night after the patch and my XP reward didn't change from what it was previous to the patch.
