Hey everyone. I play a 67 Shammy right now and i use Turgur's Insects as my slow because my 65 Slow Balance of the Nhil is hard to get since i never been to a GoD zone in my life(why did i buy that expansion?). Im thinking of working on getting it or buying it becuase my slow now, while hardly resisted with malo, just "partially works" or "mostly works". I was wondering how much of an upgrade this new spell was, will it work fully on most mobs, and it is worth the 20K or so in bazzar since i get an upgrade at 70.

Thanks for your help

I don't think it is the slow... I think it is just that some mobs can only be partially slown. Because when I am in Causeway and I slow they can only be partially or mostly slown, but in PoV when I am fighting even higher level mobs it works all the way.

I paid 15K for Balance of the Nihil (kept announcing in bazaar I wanted it at 15K and a researcher made it, I was too lazy to have my chanter assemble the parts and make it).

While sometimes it lands when Turgurs doesn't, it is short duration, and it also partially mitigated. It is ok for a quick fight or in a longer one (it's a quick cast} to give you time to cast Malos, and recast Turgurs. It was worth the 15K, absolutely not worth the 45K I saw it selling for sometimes.

Still haven't had a change to test it on a mezzed mob. I assume like Turgurs, it does not break mez, but would like some confirmation on that, if anyone has tried it.

I'm not absolutely certain about this, but I think it's similar to the upgrade that Sha's Legacy is to Sha's Revenge for the BST. A similar slow, shorter duration, but has a resist modifier.

Since getting Sha's Legacy, in about 10 hours in RSS, MPG and the Accursed Nest I've had about 5 resists using it. Revenge had at least one resist per encounter on these same mobs a fairly high percentage of the time.

If duration is a concern, cast the longer duration one about 45 seconds into the fight after the shorter one sticks.

I'd agree with Kelti. For 15k - 20k, it would be a worthwile upgrade. For 45k - 65k that I have read is typical for the spell to sell for, I think it would pretty much depend on how large your bank vault is and how much of a problem resists are for you.

If you can scrape up the components and know of somebody that can research it, I would think the cost wouldn't be too painful at all.

The raw parchments needed drop frequently in the DoDh spell missions, and the solvent to clean them is a little under 1k to produce. The remainder of the subcombines looked realtively inexpensive. The catch would be that it would be a good idea to have enough components to attempt it 2 or 3 times if necessary.

The shorter duration one is higher level, so the longer duration, lower level one, won't stick.

The two beast slows overwrite each other. don't know why Turgurs and Balance wouldn't.

All slows of the same % can over right each other. Every raid the shammies land the fast cast low resist one the over write it with Turgurs. Since they are both 75% they both over write each other.

Same works for Chanter slows. Level means nothing when it comes to slows. It is all about the Percentage slowed even between classes.

My suggestion is wait untill you hit level level 69 and get Balance of Discord unless you can get the GoD one on the cheap
