Bellam was created late 2004

God, I didn't realize he was almost 2. I keep thinking you just started or something...

Unfortunately, most of my family style guild has moved on, and playing a paladin without friends isn't much fun.

Or easy. I tried with Thor once VP kinda broke up, for about an hour. Got so frustrated I logged off.

FYI, I haven't moved on, exactly. I'm kinda aching to blow the dust off Galladril, to be honest. I just haven't had time. I still pay every month to make sure that green fellow will be there for me when I want to say hi to him again.

Unfortunately, having been spoiled by playing in a family style guild, with good friends, good players, and no time commitments, has kind of soured me to pick-up groups.

Aww. You liked us. =)

I've considered quiting because of it, but truth is, I do really like the game.

That will never stop.

Oh well. Rolled a beastie on Povar. I'll check out the climate over there. Maybe a change of venue will liven things up a bit for me.

Povar's player base, from what I read, is still low levels, so you really shouldn't have too much of a problem finding groups, or even good guilds.

My story:

Started Galladril in 2001, he is still my main, and I have too many alts to list.

I was hooked into EQ when I went to visit my folks in Texas in 2000. Saw a friend of mine and we played on his two accounts. That was the begginings of Namblak. Lost corpses in the Ferrott, long CRs in LOIO, slow leveling from crap gear and xp penalties .... But I still play him as my main. Now though he is getting an entire family of characters on 2 accounts built up.

From Dial-up to DSL, crappy systems and video to smokin' machines and LCD's, there is no other like EQ.

My barbarian warrior was created in Oct. 1999 on the Nameless server. As I later found out, the Nameless was only live for about two weeks at that point. I deleted that warrior after relizing that I shouldn't have put all my points into Intelligence. I created another barbarian warrior and I still play that warrior at times, but my main switched to a cleric.

Let's see...

...I had a friend start up on EQ back in 2002, and they quickly wanted me to try it out, I ended up making a High Elf Pally by the name of Usli (on the friends' account) and on the "beginner" server of Stromm and going through all the growing pains of a new player.

I believe I soloed 90% of the time on my way to level 21, and this was without traveling any further than GFay, Butcherblock, and crushbone, into the world...because I had zero knowledge of anything else, and had no clue of what buffs meant what, I went through most of this merely self buffed.

Unfortunately my friend cancelled the account not long after this, hard to pay for EQ when your just some jobless teenagers still in high school.

I also shudder when remembering the bad system i was playing on at the time with the even worse dialup i had...zone times were literally 5+ minutes back then, and it would usually take a good 30 mins to an hour to even get logged in thanks to linkdeaths that would hit as I went from the Character select to the game itself.

Somehow I hit it just right though, when choosing my first race/class because after not playing for a few years, last year I finally got an EQ account for myself, In March I believe...and ended up creating...a High Elf Pally, and today Saeel is level 65 with 221 AAs and counting and so many more play hours than the level/aa even shows...

...my friend also came back to EQ and still has the same account, its an odd feeling when, once in a blue moon, my friend logs Usli on (now level 22, hehe) and I still get to see my original toon.

Started August 9, 1999 (at 14:16 hours) and have been addicted ever since. Have played exclusively on the Brell server (now Cazic) with the exception of one toon on the RP server that has been lvl 14 for years now.

Went from 1 toon to 18 alts. Sigh, WTB one potion of Get A Life:)

What can i say, I love this game:)

Started in August 2001 to join my brother & brother-in-law who had been telling me all about this wonderful game that they were addicted to.

They told me that the first character I create I would end up deleting. So, to alleviate some of my wife's concerns about Evercrack, I let her choose the sex and name of the character. Smiley: oyvey

Over 5 years later, she is still my main, and easily my favorite character. Thankfully, she didn't give her a dumb name.

Now my brother plays WOW and my bro-in-law is in EQ2. However, my wife who never played a computer game before in her life, has just hit her 5 year mark on her own account and we play several times a week Smiley: yippee .

EQ was the first game I played and liked. I started in 1999, I didnt like it at first. Once I figured out the difference between Npcs and Pcs it was alot more fun :)

Okay, I will respond to this revived thread. I created a wizard in late 2000. I really didnt have any fun with it, so I deleted that toon, and almost went on to the next game, when someone I work with suggested I create a Druid. I got that one to level 45, and met a good friend named Honeybear online. She convinced me to create a Ranger, and that became my main. Since that time I have played a Shammy, Necro, Cleric, Druid, Mage,...ok stop. Instead I will say I have not played a Monk, Rogue, Warrior, or Shadow Knight. The funnest class I have played is by far the Ranger, followed VERY closely by the Necro. I think the hardest class to play is the Cleric.

Lets see, back in late 2000 the game was very different. People asked if they could inspect. I dont remember anyone begging/asking for buffs. You hung out at various safe spots (sorta) like the Tunnel in EC, and while you were looking at that darn spell book, someone would usually buff you without asking while they were waiting. It was pretty much expected that you could level, hunt, whatever without the buffs. YES!!! grouping was much easier then. You would call out a camp check, and 8 times out of 10, someone would tell you to come join them. As people would upgrade their armor, they would actually pass it on to someone, free. Over all, I firmly believe that the old population was more polite, and definetely (sp?) more friendly.
