For the time involved, Slipgear's Gem is the way to go. There are better charms out there, full stat wise, like the Intricate Wooden Figurine (improves with further PoP progression), but you'll spend months getting the stats on that charm.

You can do the Slipgear's quest in an hour or two...drop it in your Kobolod Skull Charm and you have a +20 to all stats charm. IF you have a Tainted Heartstone, and are a master of all languages, you can have a +30 charm with Slipgears.

The DoN Charm Prism of Companionship is also very nice. Its +15 all stats/resists/ac and +120 mana, hp. Maxes when you stay in a zone in group longer then like 1 hour 30 mins.

Costs 165 crystals in DONs or about 5 creater missions worth at level 70.

The kicker is it will accept two augs, both the Slipgear and the LDON at the same time.

If you have never done any work on LDON but have maxed all rare languages than the Tainted Heartsone might be better, will give +10 stats, +75 mana, HP, and +12 to 3 ressists, all the time. Tainted Heartstone is only a couple of thousand plat in baz, and can be resold if you later want to upgrade to the Prism of Comanionship.

Since you're a mage and have languages anyway I would get the Tainted Heartstone. After you get enough crystals (120 for the charm) I would buy Talisman of the Spellweaver. Then you can put slipgear's gem in one slot and another DON aug (or the LDON stone) in the 2nd slot.

I would recomend the Talisman over the prism of companionship. The talisman will always stay maxed (if you have all the languages), but the prism will vary. You'll get more out of it.

I use Talisman of the Spellweaver + Slipgear's Gem + Beaming Demantoid Stone

And I get:

AC: 22
Str: 15 Dex: 23 Sta: 23 Cha: 23 Wis: 15 Int: 23 Agi: 23
Fire: 18 Disease: 18 Cold: 18 Magic: 18 Poison: 18
HP: 142 Mana: 142 End: 142
Stun Resist: +2%

Whats the lowest level that someone could get that slipgear gem? Solo, I mean.

Solo is a tough word, I did it as a rogue with SoS and died about 4-5 times doing it.

Almost all, if not all of those deaths were in the Hive. You get stats as you complete each step, so its decent stats even without the hive step completed.

There were several high level see thru SoS mobs in the Hive and the locations to scout are not easy to get to. I did need to train and die to the last spot I needed in the hive, and having the locs is not as useful there since the last few spots are in a twisty area which is difficult to find even with a map and the locs.

The other zones were all no problem to solo just hidden. Though with SoS I do not remember which mobs were see invis but not see thru SoS.

I think I remember someone saying the min level was 45, but am really not sure, need some confirmation of this.

Note that this can be done in rogue shroud form, and I highly recommend that for the hive portion and maybe the Ruins of Illsalin too. Especially if you can get the kobold rogue form it gets FD at level 50.

An SoE or levitate will make it easier to get to the last two spots in Ruins of Illsalin.

Cool, thanks. I guess I should have asked this earlier, but can it be done with help?

I think you need to be 45 to get the quest, though have not tried it with lower, so I do not know if it can be done by lower than 45 with help.

If you could get the quest at lower than 45, then you could do the first part of the quest since its in the same zone you get it in. I have no idea if any of the deeper DoDH zones have a level requirement. If not, you could probably get most of it done which would be decent stats, and would definetly be worth trying even for the partail stats "IF" you can get the quest.

None of the zones involved are level restricted.

But. I can die in The Hive in seconds.

So.. it's largely dependent on luck for see-invis or how well you can Sneak with your shrouded Rogue (which I refused to do.. did them all as me, with people playing themselves).

You can get the Slipgear quests at any level, however, surviving through them may be a different story :) All my toons have at least the first 3 portions of the quest done (Corrathus, Undershore & Stoneroot). With these 3 done, you get 6 to your stats & 25 hp/mana/end. Fairly nice for less than an hour's work.

Just take a handful of invis potions and you should be able to complete these. The only see invis mobs you really have to worry about is a few islands in Undershore with undead mobs (which you don't have to step foot on for the quest) and there is a named mob that is usually up in Stoneroot down on a small island in the water. You do have to swim behind this named to trigger a part of the quest, but as long as you stay on the wall opposite of him, you should not aggro him.

One final piece of advice would be to make sure you have updated maps for all the zones downloaded. Last time I did the quest, my map for Stoneroot had the quest spots all ready marked but I had to mark the others manually. Good luck!
