Hey guys, I used to play EQ very much. I dropped and went onto just about all other MMORPGs, however, now i find myself wanting to come back. Is this game still popular and still being played alot? I didn't know if EQ2 killed EQ1. If EQ1 is still around and good can somebody please tell me what has happened since Velious? Thanks!
We're not dead yet. It is still a great game, with lots of people. The world gets bigger with each expansion. There are a lot more high level people than true newbies, but still tons of fun. Instead of asking what happened since Velious, just pretend it's a new game because so very much has changed.
Here's one thread. Lots of threads on this subject. There is a new package called Titanium which will include most of the expansions.

How do I get the 21 day trail thing?
Also what class is the most useful these days? I used to love my rogue but it was always hard to find groups. I loved my druid but Plain of Wisdom came out so I no longer got money for ports!!!! So I just dunno where to go as far as class are concerned

and did you mean everquest Platnuim? that has up to gates of discord?
Nope I meant Titanium
To get free 21 days you had to be a player at one time, then you just log in, at least according to the OP of another thread.

No there is a Titanium coming out on 1-16-06 I believe is the date. It has all 10 expansion in it, and I think it's only 19.99.(Correct me if I'm wrong)
It seems like lately I've been running into more and more new players too. Just the other day I grouped with 2 new players, with an alt, that said they've only been playing a week or so.
It's nice to see new players wanting to try out the best MMORPG (IMO) that's out there.

Magees are useful for dps, goodies, andCall of the hero, can solo mobs well, not as good as some but quicker
Monks one of the better pullers,
Sk can grab agro, palys stuns have been improved greatly
The Holy Trinity is as string as ever
Wizards get awsome nukes and familiars that enhance them
Necros have debuffs that stack with everyone elses
Berserkers have great dps from what ive heard, pluss finnaly an axe based class!
Beatlords as a class well imo they kinda suck but solo good
Rangers havent recieved any Archery improvments since lucin other than new bows
