They get them when/if they complete their respective epic quests.

What's special about them? Well, they don't die as fast as rangers and they almost have as good of dps as a paladin.

Both shaman and druids must complete their epic 1.0 quests for the Spear of Fate and Scimitar, respectively. Also, they changed the level that shaman get their first spirit wolf to 24 or 26.

The reason that clerics are so valued is because they have the best healing spells in the game, and they are a plate class, so they can take more of a beating than a comparable shaman or druid. However, they lack the offensive power and utility that the other two priest classes offer, since they really only do one thing well; heal.

For the druid epic, you can start at level 46, NPC in Burning Woods wont even talk to you about it before then. You can do most of the preliminary stuff by the time you get to level 50. Towards the end you will need the help of at least a full group of mid-50s to take out some of the mobs. For the druid epic you do not need to go to Plane of Hate, Fear or Sky, so thats one nice thing. I enjoyed the parts I could do solo though, I may have been level 62 when I finished it finally.

I agree with Dot...

The Druid epic has many pieces that can be done solo.
As far as the few (i.e. Corrupter, VS and that little dragon) a group of mid 50's or one 65+ with you can make quick work of those.
Alot of this epic is Foraged so with some luck you and time you can have all of the foraged items way before 46 even.

My Friend did the Shammie epic and besides the planes drops, his biggest issue was trying to get some of his mobs either up or uncamped.

OK, what I want to know is whether there's a minimum level requirement to start the Druid Epic 1.5 quest. I have the Nature Walk Scimitar already, and have foraged the Sickly Maiden Hair from Rathe. When I went to Alethea in East Karana to talk to her to start my 1.5 quest, she kept referring to me as a "young one" and wouldn't give me the conversation cues to continue on to Surefall Glade.

I figured I had to be in my 60's or lvl 70. I am presently in my 59th season.

Also, I conned "kindly" to her. So it could be a faction issue. If so, what do I do to fix the faction problem?

Epic 1.5 is Req level 65

Epic 2.0 is Req level 70

Just the way the Dev's made it

1. Beastkittens are fun.. to get people to play them, they start off hugely overpowered. I hear nothing but gripes from the 70 ones, though.

2. My first "Belbold`Oloth" sister was a Knight of Innoruuk. Fun Class, and I lubs them. But.. I deleted her at 52.. too group dependent for my tastes.

3. Druids are a fun solo class, and ok healers. But.. it's like a necro with no mana regen (and less DPS).

4. I would consider a Kitten.. only Shaman race without XP penalty (I believe).

5. Make this your main.. you will have more fun (play longer). "Everyone" says Iksars are the only choice for leet necros (for racial regen). I dunno, I am sexier and have enough regen at this point. If you wanna be a walking handbag, at least you made the "normal" choice.

Personally, I would make a Gnome Wizard. Oh, wait, I did: http://www.magelo.com/eq_view_profile.html?num=1275433
